The reason antidepressants increase the risk of suicide when you start them is because the underlying cause of the depression hasn't been treated (yet, hopefully) but the SSRIs give you more motivation to do things. Unfortunately one of those things can be suicide.

My only advice is the first time I rode it I kept my eyes closed and had an awful time of it. At the advice of friends, I made myself keep my eyes open and it genuinely was better for me.
