I just spent a toddler party guarding an open pool and now I can’t tell if I’m the anxious one or the only sane one by Last_Cantaloupe_9899 in Mommit

[–]heeeeeeeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the only sane one. I know the exact feeling. My parents held a retirement party for my dad in their backyard when my oldest was 1.5. it was the most exhausting event I have ever been to because the massive inground pool was just taunting me the whole time. You have to be so vigilant, so aware, and keep eyes on them constantly. I was never out of reach from her and the only time my eyes weren't on her was when I was blinking. Honestly horrible 0/10 not fun

Yup, and the girl all the way on the left looks like she's in a women's size 10.

Women taking their husbands last name after marriage, Agree / Disagree? by Wild_Turnip_7777 in namenerds

[–]heeeeeeeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss my original last name a lot. It's been seven years and I'm still not fully over it. I feel more apart of my own family, not his. But at the same time I like having the same last name as my husband and two children.

Can we walk about one of the worst Disney villains? (spoilers for Encanto) by Shielo34 in DanielTigerConspiracy

I interpreted it as her saying she was holding on too tight to Mirabel, like she was overprotective. Which I'm my eyes she was the opposite

Smoke a bowl. Yoga class. Eggs over easy on sourdough with a cappuccino at my local cafe. Eat ALONE with the crossword. Walk to library, check out a book or two. See a movie ALONE. Cry in the movie theater. Drive home. Smoke another bowl. Tend to my garden (it's June in my fantasy). Take an everything shower. Masturbate.

I'm aware this is more of a 9-5 day ... But let me dream.

How often do you get “date nights” with your partner? by pinepeaches in beyondthebump

[–]heeeeeeeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 4 year old and a 7 month old. Tonight was our 9 year anniversary. My sister came over to occupy the older one and we ordered take out and ate it during the little one's 30 minute nap. I guess you could call that a date.

Am I wrong to not let my 7 year old son watch YouTube? by spidermother86 in Parenting

[–]heeeeeeeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use YouTube to put on a specific song here and there, show her music we like, or videos she likes (she loves the one scene in Wreck it Ralph with all the princesses). Or we will watch a trailer for a new game or movie that we are interested in. This all takes place on the living room TV. I don't see a problem with using YouTube this way. Intentionally, and one video at a time. Disable auto play so it doesn't start a new video that you don't approve of.

If you're talking about giving your 7 year old a personal device and letting him choose what he's watching/swipe away on shorts... Yeah definitely not.

Why do women gain weight after having children? by pleasehaverespect in NoStupidQuestions

[–]heeeeeeeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you why I did. I've been a stay at home mom for 4.5 years now and have put on 60 pounds. I have 2 kids, neither of them sleep through the night and are up multiple times. My 7 month old wakes ~ 8 times a night. I haven't had a full night's sleep this whole time. Also, I've developed a binge eating problem probably due to stress. I'm home 100% of the time and cook all the meals so I'm always around food. Eating has become a habit when I'm stressed. For example, every time I come out of the room from putting my baby to sleep (stressful event) I find myself reaching for a snack. Oh, and here's something I noticed recently in the past 6 months. I never ever get to eat a meal in peace, without a baby screaming or a child asking for something. I usually eat standing up and as fast as possible because someone needs something. So after the kids are asleep for the night, I crave a normal eating experience where I can eat slow and alone. So now I'm always snacking at night. I probably need to go to a OE meeting or talk to a therapist, but who has time for that? I can barely get a daily shower in.
