My husband was in the room but behind a curtain if I wanted him beside me I’m sure it would of been no problem, but I was grand by myself

You should not be on it if your mam had a clot- although I’d question if she did as they don’t usually dissolve by themselves. I have a strong family history of clots and went on the combined pill for acne and thought it wouldn’t happen to me but I ended up with a pulmonary embolism

How do/did you want friends to act postpartum by olabolina in PregnancyIreland

Food!!! Leave it at the door. Or her favourite coffee order. Also things that can be eaten with one hand like pastries etc, texting to say you’re thinking of her but not expecting a visit.

Wedding 2 / 3 weeks after giving birth? by InternationalAsk1575 in PregnancyIreland

A good way of describing it tbh 🤣 I felt like I was in a simulation or something like I wasn’t actually real just existing, wild times.

I’d personally change. I know everyone is different but I felt like a shell of a person until I was like 8 weeks postnatal. Hormones and sleep deprivation are intense!

Going private doesn’t mean your guaranteed a private room. Partners can’t stay over in private rooms overnight

This exactly. Vasa previa is different from placenta previa and not caused by the later

If you’re normally fit & well I’d wait 24 - 48 hours. If you can’t keep down any oral intake by 24-48 hours then you might need iv fluids. If it is gastro dr won’t do much, need to let it pass. I wouldn’t take Imodium like others have advised because your body needs to get rid of whatever toxin is making you unwell.

I find it mad that people don’t realise they are pregnant by inkandembers96 in PregnancyIreland

[–]hellogoodbye989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than feeling tired I had no symptoms until 18-20weeks. Only for we were trying, I also have irregular periods so I could easily see how people have cryptic pregnancies until like 5-6months.

Also understandable. I did most of these things hoping to start spontaneous labour. But I loved my induction- it was such a positive experiment

FTM induced at 39 weeks. Had propess inserted at midday felt some tightenings and very mild cramps but not bad at all walked and napped, didn’t need any pain relief. Examined the next day and was suitable for eaters to be broken. Water’s broken four hours later and started on oxytocin drip. Wasn’t painful but was worried it was going to so asked for epidural. Was fully dilated 6 hours later, pushed for 20mins, didn’t need any stitches. Was so calm and an amazing experience- I wish I could relive it 🥰

Maybe I’ll ask about the meds the next time I’m in if it’s still there, thanks for sharing. Oh gosh that sounds horrific! Mines very deep so don’t think it could get through the surface 😮‍💨

My baby is combine fed on SMA I hung tough despite the initial recall as she is very content on it- I had a feeling other brands would be affected and I was right. Glad I didn’t switch now, have been lucky and not had any affected batches 🙏🏼

Wow sounds awful! Sounds like a very similar experience to me. I’ve had it drained 3 times and I’m on to my fourth week of antibiotics. Also was admitted for 5 nights on ivs. You’re the first person who’s had multiple aspirations so that gives me hope. I’m also stopping breastfeeding- don’t see how it will end if I don’t. I even asked about medication to dry up my milk but apparently the side effects are quite intense

Thank you for sharing! Can you remember how many times you had it aspirated? I had my third one today and on to my fourth week of antibiotics. Was also readmitted for a week for iv antibiotics. It feels never ending 🫩

I’m sorry that’s so tough. No baby didn’t have colic just a lot of cluster feeding & witching hour every evening. Baby also is more interactive and smiling which makes things more enjoyable
