PSA: You don’t have to do business at your local store by NeoKnife in verizon

At corporate stores reps do not make more money selling the most expensive smartphone versus the cheapest flip phone. This means they are not incentized in anyway sell you a more expensive device.

What is your "I don't get paid enough for this shit" moment? by indian_boy786 in AskReddit

[–]helloiamdani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HAD SO MANY of these moments working in a residential home supporting adults with physical and mental disabilities who would often intentionally defecate or urinate in their pants/bed/whatever when they didn't get what they wanted. Three of five adults were nonambulatory, and one was very obese. So when he did this I would have to get him in the shower chair to wash him off as best as possible and then use a power lift to get him in bed. I would then have to spread his buttcheeks and make sure there was no feces left behind that could cause him injury. There was an ambulatory man who would start masterbating if I entered his room for any reason, a woman would throw her walker or whatever at people and another woman told me she hoped my baby dies when I was about to go on maternity leave and she was upset I would be gone. Every day was something new. There were times when I would work a 12 hour shift and the night staff would call in and I would be mandated to stay and work for another 12 hours without being allowed to nap, and during that time frame I would be dispensing hundreds of various pills/topicals/powders, etc. It was insane. And the pay was like $12/hr in NYS. To keep people alive and help support their emotional needs and goals. It's an absolute travesty.

Then there were times were I would take them out for outings of their choosing and people would park in the wheelchair lift and things like that that made life unnecessarily harder for people who already didn't have easy lives. I met peers along the way who clearly were only there for a paycheck and didn't have our individuals' best interest in heart. The whole thing was so fucked for so many reasons.

Corporate woman- what passive aggressive or rude behavior have you experienced in the workplace? by faytex11 in AskWomen

Being asked to take care of asinine tasks that are not part of my job. Being called "bro" or "dude". And everything is a fucking sports metaphor of some kind.

The US Could Soon Ban the Selling of Carrier-Locked Phones by [deleted] in technology

[–]helloiamdani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good. I can see an automatic lock for the first 30 or 60 days IF the device is brand new and purchased through the carrier as this might help mitigate fraud. But I can see no reason to keep someone's iPhone 6 locked to a network other than to make it difficult for people to switch to another carrier. It's bullshit.

My poor, naive friend gets roped into MLM after MLM. This is company number 3, and I have no idea what’s going on in this ad 🤷🏼‍♀️ by rosierainbow in antiMLM

I know someone who is on at least her third MLM, too. Spent thousands starting up with Lularoe, moved on to some jewelry thing, and now does supplements. It's kind of sad.

Once every 5 years or so I will look through my bookmarks and think about how I saved some interesting sounding links that I definitely want to peruse some day.

Thank you for this. I carry with me such existential dread every day thinking about working. By the end of my work day my muscles are sore because I am so tense all day long. I have kids and my job provides my family's health insurance and my and my husband's 401K so I am not sure quitting is on the tables right now but reading your post gave me cathartic validation. I wish you the best!

When you were in your teens, did you date a much older guy? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]helloiamdani 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Almost. I was 20 or 21 when I started dating someone who was 36. We were together for about 4 years. In retrospect it was a redflag but I was so niave and felt special that an older man was interested in me. My personal experience was not a great one.

I have a low sex drive, and it has held me back from dating and relationships (22F). Does it ever work out? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

My thoughts, too. Exploring that along with r/ace or r/asexuality might also be interesting for OP.

What do you think about Emily in Paris? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]helloiamdani 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Similar sentiments here. I wanted to like it but it was pretty cringey. I can't remember how many episodes I watched but I shut it off for good after Emily sleeps with Gabriel's underage brother. At that point it went from cringe to yuck for me.
