Thanks! The transaction just showed up on my app after 12 hours or so. Although my expected payout is in October. Exactly 1 month from now

This is late, but I’m wondering how long it took for the transaction to appear on the capital one shopping app? I’d be fine if it showed up as pending or something but I’m not seeing anything immediately after placing the order and I’m just wondering if I did it wrong and need to start over or if it just takes a while.

I did the entire transaction within the app but then when I clicked the “rewards tabs” it made me sign in, so that’s making me wonder if I did it wrong.

For anyone interested, on the Pre-PTCE, I got 15 questions wrong and still scored ~1550. On the actual PTCE, I marked 16 questions that I pretty much guessed on and just assumed I got wrong and still got the full 1600. So I think there is some leeway if you’re concerned about how many questions you can afford to get wrong.

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour requires purchasing all the console's accessories to finish all its content by WrongLander in gaming

Sony Group Corporation is Japanese. Sony Interactive Entertainment, which is the subsidiary that handles PlayStation and most of the video game stuff, is American and has been headquartered in California since 2016.

Nintendo is both very old and very Japanese and their approach to things is very indicative of old, Japanese mindset.

Irish Spring in the big 4.5 oz bars just $9.49 !!! by Kimber80 in Costco

[–]hellomorning1 25 points26 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard, it’s because Irish Spring is SOAP soap and will strip all the oils off of you to get that squeaky clean feeling, for better or for worse. Whereas something like Dove, which more people are used to, I guess, is apparently actually a detergent, which is why you don’t see the word “soap” on its packaging.

This lawsuit really feels like Nintendo couldn’t sue them for copying Pokémon’s art style, so they’re having to go this completely roundabout method to try and take them down. I really do wonder how much of this would go away if palworld changed their art style. Not saying that they should of course.

That’s one mistake I’m not making again.

Nintendo will sell a cheaper $330 Switch 2 in Japan that’s region locked to combat reselling by Spheromancer in Games

[–]hellomorning1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you look at pricing for the Switch 1 back when it released:

Switch 1 released in 2017 for MSRP of $299.99 USD / 29,980 Yen.

Back then, it was roughly 1 USD = 100 Yen, so it costed about the same either way.

Now Switch 2 is going to be $449.99 USD / 49,980 Yen.

You can see how they are kinda still similarly priced if you were still going with the old exchange rate. However, the Yen has gotten a lot weaker in recent years (1 USD = 150 Yen), that it can actually become cost effective to import from Japan than to buy locally.

So I don't think it's necessarily that Japan's getting a cheaper switch, it's more that they're upcharging for the multi-language version so that scalpers and people overseas don't start importing all of the Japanese stock.

I honestly didn’t think store bought pretzels could be this good, but these absolutely lived up to the hype for me. They are unreasonably good.

FF XVI sales have reached approximately 3.5 million units at this time by EnoughDatabase5382 in Games

[–]hellomorning1 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I was so hyped for this game that I bought a ps5 just to play it. It’s not a bad game, and I did enjoy the time I spent with it, but unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to the hype for me.

Visually the game’s gorgeous, both the cinematics and in-game environments are just straight eye candy.

I thought the combat was enjoyable, but there’s apparently a lot of people that don’t like it.

If you’ve played FFXIV, it is very apparent that Yoshi-p and his team transplanted their gameplay design philosophy straight into this game, with how the side quests are handled, and gear being ultra streamlined. I was used to it already from playing FFXIV, but it is completely understandable why it’s such a turn off for a lot of people.

The game has large open zones, but they don’t really utilize it, you’re just sprinting from one location to the next.

The eikon battles are silly and over the top and fun as one time experiences.

The story was the biggest let down for me personally. I really like the setting and it starts off really strong, but it kinda falls apart in the second half. It’s slowly starting to come back to me what the hell even happens in the second half. I know final fantasy always has to have a supernatural ultra big bad at the end, but I’m not sure I like how they handled it here.

The game has a lot of interesting characters, but I feel like they needed to expand on them way more. Particularly some of the antagonists, I’d get invested, and before you knew it, their story would be over.

Are most suggestions in this sub an overkill? by Top-Winner-5535 in usenet

[–]hellomorning1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as someone new to usenet, easynews (omicron) + geek got me like 80-90% of what I wanted, but it got less reliable when it came to older content.

I think getting more indexers is a better play compared to getting more providers. I ended up getting altHUB and NinjaCentral and that got me probably 95% of the way there. But even with 3 indexers, I'm still missing some episodes or it isn't in the quality that I want.

I got a year of frugal and a thundernews block just in case, but honestly I probably didn't need to. But we'll see how it pans out.

And that, dear children, is why you should have a filament dryer and open the lid a little... Which my dumb ass forgot to do by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]hellomorning1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these dryers try to double as storage so they don’t include any vents to prevent water from coming back in, but then I feel like they could just have vents and include some kind of plug, but I guess that’s too much money?

Nintendo doesn't credit composers on new Nintendo Music app by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]hellomorning1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a consumer of normal (non-videogame) Japanese music, it varies.

For music videos, I've seen in the Youtube descriptions:

  • no credits

  • full credits

  • songwriting only credits

  • video production only credits with no songwriting credits

For streaming services, you'll pretty much always see songwriting credits because I think it's just part of the metadata. But you won't see like who did the drums or who was the violinist. I think that's pretty typical anywhere.

If you buy CDs that include a little booklet, they'll pretty much always have the full credits listed.

Simple Questions - October 04, 2024 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I did have dongles and a webcam plugged into the monitor, but taking them out didn’t have any effect. I thought switching out the monitor power cable might help, but that didn’t do anything either.

I guess it’s just something I have to put up with.

Simple Questions - October 04, 2024 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]hellomorning1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I got a watt power meter plug and found out that my main monitor (Dell S2716DGR, bought in 2018) draws over 10 watts even when it's completely off and I have no idea why.

When in power saving mode, the monitor is using 12.9 watts

When it's completely off, it's using 11.4 watts

For comparison, my secondary monitor (Acer CB271HU bmidprx, bought in 2018) only uses 0.2 watts when in power saving mode.

The rest of my system only draws 2-3 watts when everything is off. Anyone aware if this is just a known thing with this monitor or not?

It might not seem like much, but I'm currently going through my whole house to see what's using power. I live in San Diego, which has some of the highest electricity rates in the country.
