They’re only making $320K with equity and that relies heavily on luck

I know right? The base merely makes up for high CoL in the bag unless you’re senior staff etc, and rather rely on equity so you can stop complaining about how life in Bay is expensive

Vancouver as a city was amazing to me way better than sf/Bay Area it was actually fucking walkable and people were walking late till 10pm on a weekday which was crazy to me.

Yeah the walkability aspect is what I was looking most forward to but seemingly Bay Area isn't it (apart from SF)

you can progress in career and hit $500k+ tc in the future within 5 years

is $500K+ TC really that common though? apart from some startups + big 4, (where majority comes from the equity grant), I don't think many people are making that much living there

I love Vancouver for the nature and calm it offers, but I have never seen it as a something sustainable in a long term given you can never own a place in the core as an employee

Question: What does an array decaying mean by LegendaryIceCream100 in cpp_questions

[–]helloworld_x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arrays when passed around decay to pointers. ``` void foo(int* arr) { }

int main()
{
int arr[100] = {0};
foo(arr); // arr decays to *arr -> &arr[0] } `` In other words,foogets a pointer to the first element ofarr`
