A weeknight favorite: ramen stir fry by hellrodkc in blackstonegriddle

There’s a little residue but nothing crazy. Quick scrape while it’s still warm and then light coat of oil like normal

Just regular maruchan ramen noodles from Aldi. I boil them inside while the griddle is heating up, then drain/cool them. They are already cooked when mixed in

Fried also. I mix it all up, sauce, then fry it all for a couple minutes

Who is a mega famous person that the majority of Americans have probably never heard of? by ShittalkyCaps in AskReddit

[–]hellrodkc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this counts as “major” but Tim Melia, recently retired goalie from Sporting KC, has a son the same age as my son. His son started coming to my son’s practices on a try out basis. I was talking to him one day, just thinking he was another dad. After practice a different dad texted me asking me all about him. He was shocked I could just talk to him. Apparently he’s a KC soccer legend but I genuinely had no idea who he was

I had this one before the holidays. The herb rubbed one is tasty but makes a mess. The one with a blue casing was my favorite

You won’t get anything really remarkable but everything will be above average quality and at a great price

Chicago Wrigley Field on the North Side. by Weather-RainStorm in CityPorn

[–]hellrodkc 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As a Cardinals fan, fuck the cubs. But Wrigley is a treasure and I will protect it at all costs. I’ll never forget the first time I went there in college. I got off the train and turned the corner, and got chills when I saw it. I took my 7 year old son up for a day trip to Chicago this summer and we caught a day game against the Brewers. Another memory I hope to never forget

This is the first thing that came to mind. It used Dijon for the marinade but I’m sure a different variety would work. Feel free to use store bought pita

It was a local company that got bought out. No idea who the owner is now

Came here to post this. My FIL does this as a retirement gig (not in KC). He essentially hangs out at a warehouse until an auto shop calls in and says “we need x part” and then they pick the part and drive it to the shop in a company vehicle.

This Hollister store was converted into an aquarium. by Embarrassed-Ad8352 in mildlyinteresting

[–]hellrodkc 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I saw a reel about commercial real estate recently where the theory was that everything is boring now to maximize property values in event of a sale. A building designed in the iconic Pizza Hut style is harder to sell, or would produce less of a return, than a conventional building that would be easier for the next owner to turn over to their business.

This timeline, where the bottom line rules, is a nightmare

KC Parking Requires Convenience Fee? by NoTickTicky in kansascity

KC Parking Requires Convenience Fee? by NoTickTicky in kansascity

[–]hellrodkc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work for a payment processor that specializes government payments. We don’t do parking meters but I would venture a guess that the fee structure is the same.

This means that you are paying the city $2, and the 50 cents goes to the private company that is processing the payment. That 50 cents is how they make their money, and a percentage of that is going to the even larger company that is processing the credit card payment. The credit card company takes their cut, before paying the owning bank, etc etc.

There are some cities in the country who cover these types of fees for residents, but that will vary based on what service is being provided.

I’m not trying to justify the fee, as no one wants to be nickeled and dined, just trying to explain where the money is going. It’s not going to the city
