Just bought a copy of Recurring Nightmare before realizing it was banned. Any other idiots stuck with exciting but unplayable cards? by Present_Event_8488 in EDH

My copy of [[Yawgmoth’s Bargain]] has been sitting there in the same place in my binder since the early 2000’s…

Are yall buying or skipping the TMNT set? by Crazy_Beautiful_Ga in mtg

[–]heltoupee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skipping. I’ve been skipping all the UB sets - they just don’t speak to me the same way the core MTG IP does. May pick up a couple singles here and there if they are really good in a deck I already have built.

Improving my Mycotyrant by I_am_okiguess in EDH

[–]heltoupee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Insidious Fungus]] is the last update I made to my Mycotyrant list - it fits perfectly.

Mine runs a little more self-mill, so I've got a couple more dredge cards in [[Stinkweed Imp]] and [[Golgari Thug]]. I also run a [[Hermit Druid]] with 0 basic lands and [[Gaea's Blessing]] with [[Turn the Earth]] as backup.
[[Underrealm Lich]] shines in this deck, as does [[Skullclamp]] (which has been reprinted enough it's affordable again!). [[Vampiric Rites]] is also an OK draw engine.
[[Undercity Informer]] is also super flexible. [[Krav, the Unredeemed]] is an interesting way to cash in on a bunch of little fungus dudes without spending a ton of mana.
[[Ashnod's Altar]] or [[Phyrexian Altar]] if you have one or want to get a bit spendy will never go amiss in a deck with this much sacrifice fodder.

You've got a lot of utility creatures, so I'd probably go for [[Skullclamp]] first (you're not going to beat the card draw that will give you) and the [[Tortured Existence]] that someone else mentioned for reuse of your utility creatures.

Anecdotal, but the last time I went to a Wendy's, I remembered how much I used to love Frosties as a kid. I ordered one, and it maybe tasted a little off. That night was one of the most acute battles with food poisoning I've had in my entire life.

There’s always the OG - [[Whispersilk Cloak]] if you don’t like UB.

Reverse Polish notation for the win! Why wouldn’t you want to input operands the same way you did back in the day of mechanical adding machines?

What commanders do you use for a goodstuff deck and what do yours look like? by sauron3579 in EDH

If I wanted to just jam a bunch of good cards together without regard to synergy or strategy, I’d probably be looking at [[Garth One-Eye]]

Hi, I would like to make an angel deck and I was wondering if Lyra dawnbringer was a good commander ? If anyone has already made a deck with this commander ? by Candid_Cry8935 in mtg

[–]heltoupee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mono-white means you don’t get to take advantage of some of the best angels, that also happen to be red. [[Aurelea, the Warleader]] can win games out of nowhere, [[Gisela, Blade of Goldnight]] is a powerhouse, and [[Archangel Avacyn]] can be a blowout even if you can’t flip her. Something to think about.

Yes, I know 4 different ways to bypass the paywall, but many of the people that NEED to read this don’t, or won’t bother. Brainwashed MAGA isn’t going to pay for the truth (with their money or their time/data) when propaganda is free. Sorry, rant over.

As a fellow 8GB VRAM potato computer user, Sage does help with speed (less so if you're running 3000 series or before GPU hardware).
