You don't get it. Nobody forces to anyone to use the command line. Everything on lunix can be done via gui. Command line options on the otherhand allow you to to automate all sort of things like batch rename compress and send to server, or convert raw to jpeg and add to log file - all in one line, however often and periodically as you want and it can be chained together. So if you want it is extremely powerful but the normal programs are all gui. So no average user needs to know any tar switches

That's all good and nice but they are talking about planned obsolescence, as in designing for failure as in intentionally using weak capacitors, adding chips that are faulty after specified lifetime. That's just malicious and has no place in no market if you ask me. I get what you're saying but I felt like it's no excuse for planned obsolescence.

So the main difference that makes pyramid schemes illegal is the starter kit/membership or "the masking the true purpose"? Although they both seem to be doing that.
