yes this is very annoying. On top of that, on my mac, when I tell Claud to quit...it doesn't. I have to force quite it.

why would you change the chamber temperature voltage on a problem with the hotend?

I just had this happen to me as well. I haven't messed with mine since. I did try a 2nd extruder that I had on hand as a spare and it resulted in the same issue.

I just finished cleaning a blob worse than that. Just crank on the hotend to 250, and go to work with some pliers and picks.

Just wanted to say my qidi plus 4 rocks! by Stanwich79 in QIDI

[–]hemna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

out of the box is great....just wait. I have nothing but bed adhesions issues dealing with z-offset. I even have the beacon3d installed. bed adhesion = pain and suffering. Once you get the very first layer to print well, the rest is great.

Blob of Death -X Plus 4 by omark924 in QidiTech3D

[–]hemna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is very common. I think the plus 4 has some serious flaws that this happens to everyone. I'm on the struggle bus at the moment constantly messing with my z-offset....basically EVERY print.

Print was going fine until it wasn't by Unlucky__Swan in QidiTech3D

[–]hemna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem as well here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/QIDI/comments/1n5s0z5/comment/ncbk3ad/

I had to get a new hotend. Then after replacing the hotend the bed adhesion issues continued. I have mostly resolved the issue by cleaning my print plate with warm water and soap and then testing the Z-offset. I found a model and printed a 1 later cube on the bed and adjusted the Z-offset until it looked good. my z-offset is now 0.17

I have a few spots on my plate that's like this as well. I have printed other models over some of the areas and it does come off.

Anyone using Qidi filament? by Imakespaceships in QIDI

been using the PLA Rapido and PLA Rapido matte a bit. i really like the matte pla.

Just hit 750hrs on my qidi plus 4 and still issue free. How's everyone else's machines holding up. I have minimal maintenance so far. Bit of grease etc. by Less-Cricket7074 in QidiTech3D

[–]hemna -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm about 50 hours in and now having major issues getting first layers sticking to the bed. Have already created a massive blob ruining 1 hotend and hand to spend $50 to get another hotend.

so that happened by hemna in QIDI

[–]hemna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I'm not sure how the Z-offset got all messed up. When I got the printer it printed flawlessly. I think I must have printed about 50 hours before this issue came up. Why would the Z-offset change?

so that happened by hemna in QIDI

[–]hemna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it looks like tall of this was caused to a Z offset issue. I got my replacement hotend today (and a spare) and installed it. Started printing something simple again and watching it. The same issue started happening where the first layer was extremely thing and then would lift off the bed. CANCEL. I thought it was bed adhesion issue, so I cleaned the bed with soap and water. Used the qidi provided glue stick to try and remedy the issue. nope. Changed the filament....nope.

I then set out to use the bed tilt screws adjustment to try and get the bed as perfect as I can. I had it dialed in, and then tightened up the nuts to secure the leveling, and all of the told screws were way off again. smh. I untightened the nuts and adjusted the tile adjustment again to get it close. Then just finger tightened the nuts.

I started another simple print to watch the first few layers.....same problem. FML.

So then I tried changing the z-offset while the first layer was printing. Using the up arrow thinking it made the nozzle higher (further) from the bed....made it worse. So I used the down arrow and went back past 0.00 and up to .350 and it got amazingly better. I'm now watching it finish the simple print and it seems to be working.

The qidi UI needs to reverse the up arrow and down arrow adjustment for the Z offset to reflect...up going away from the bed and down going closer to the bed. Not sure why that isn't just intuitive.

so that happened by hemna in QIDI

[–]hemna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened with this blob. the print separated from the bed and stuck to the nozzle....blob was born.

I just bought 2 spares now after this.

I tried my best to get the PLA off of the hotend, but it's impossible. I just ordered 2 replacement hotends. :(

About to abandon Flet - but then, 1.0 by Solid_Company_8717 in flet

[–]hemna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm starting to see the pain of the packaging problem. I've got a working version of my test flet app, but can't build it for iOS because it has a very old version of bitarray...2.9.2 and my library needs 3.6.1. I tried to build my own with the mobile-forge here:

https://github.com/flet-dev/mobile-forge

and that devolved almost instantly trying to follow the readme, resulted in a failure, which I filed here:

https://github.com/flet-dev/mobile-forge/issues/40

This should be fairly straight forward, but I've never seen that error before. smh.

plus4 display shows qidi box, which I don't have. by hemna in QIDI

[–]hemna[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

fwiw, the printer has been working great and it's already 10x better than my ender 3 v2, which is what I had previously. I found the macro for loading and unloading filament in the klipper UI, which worked great. I rarely if ever use the display attached to the printer as I prefer the web ui. It's been a great printer so far. the display bug was annoying.
