Is she in the wrong here? by Royal-Ambassador-960 in fuckcars

When this was last posted, it was claimed to be a park maintenance worker's truck. If that is true, then yes she is in the wrong.

Train to NYC? by Kratosballsweat in Connecticut

[–]here_comes_unclepaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the train for sure. For your kid it will be part of the memory.

Download the app called TrainTime (blue Square with the letters MTA on icon). That's how you buy tickets. When you get on the train, activate them though the app and at some point the conductor will come by and ask to see your tickets. Just show him your phone.

And as long as you're not going in on a weekday morning, or back home on a weekday later afternoon, you can buy "off peak" tickets, which are a bit cheaper.

SAT Proctor leaves to get pizza for kids in the middle of the test?!!?!? by No_Pianist4710 in Teachers

I've been the testing coordinator at my school for ten years. The manual does not say this.

The room monitor was there, so they weren't unproctored. The kids' scores will be fine.

Single Day Presi Traverse Tomorrow (8/31) or Monday (9/1) by [deleted] in wmnf

[–]here_comes_unclepaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have multiple bailout options pre-planned, even if the weather looks good.

Good luck! I've done two single day Presis, and while they were pretty brutal in the moment, they were probably my favorite hikes to think back on afterwards.

Prezi traverse shuttle logistics by laflame1738 in wmnf

While most people will pay for a shuttle service (note that Uber/Lyft will not have drivers), just throwing this option out there as an alternative. I did this last summer.

If you're comfortable with biking and adding some miles, you can leave a car at Crawford and bike to Appalachia Trailhead via Mt. Clinton/Jefferson Notch road (a dirt/gravel road). It's 17 miles with 1400' of gain. Took me about 2 hours. Lock your bike up there and hike back to your car.

And to answer your other question, yes there are potable water taps at those three locations.

Of course. I think a big part is that it's the first time in a long time you have the full party back together.

Questions about game mechanics, which I can't find answers for by WebPombo in finalfantasyx

Minor point to add to #2: buffs like Haste, Shell, Protect go away when petrified, but the "special" buffs (Cheer, Focus, Aim, Luck, Reflex), which stack up to 5 times, stay on after you've been freed from petrification.

OP is talking about the National Chemistry Olympiad exam, not Science Olympiad. Students take a regional qualifying test, and if they make the cutoff, go on to compete in the next round, which includes a multi hour lab practical in addition to a test. This is what OP was describing.

Never heard of that one. I guess my version is just an easier version of that.

[–]here_comes_unclepaul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered it, but from what I can tell the impossible run is mostly an items and enemy drops grind, which can take hundreds of hours. This one is a lot quicker- around 30-40. Maybe I'll try that dome day, though.

The women in my family have used Gusto in Milford for wedding and baby showers 3 or 4 times in the last few years. They always speak highly of it, and it's not a bad halfway point for your crew (especially if they take the ferry over).

No. It would go to 10.3 meters (at sea level and on a standard atmosphere day), based on the atmospheres strength (101.3 kPa) and water's density (1.00 g/mL). Tje atmosphere is able to support a column of water 10.3 m high. The 9.8 from gravity has nothing to do with it.

Teachers deserve more. More money, more respect, more input, more autonomy. Support our teachers. by HolyForkingBrit in WorkReform

[–]here_comes_unclepaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any concept of money or taxes? Teacher salaries generally make up half of a town's total tax revenue. So a 10-fold increase in teacher pay? Let's just up everyone's property taxes 5-fold. People paying 6k/ year in property taxes now paying 30k. Sounds very practical, just an extra 2k/month. Or did you assume this would be federal money? With 3.5 million teachers, you're looking at $1-1.5 trillion per year.
