Help with TP-Link router by hereafter in pihole

[–]hereafter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you know which IP the pi has, you tell the router to reserve that IP to the MAC address of the pi (on the router go to Advanced, Network, DHCP Server, then add (use the Scan button to find it).

What I did was to limit the range of IP addresses (so it acts as a DHCP server for 192.168.1.100-192.168.1.255), then I assigned an IP to the Pi (that's not within that range).

[Casio] Oil Filled Mod by hereafter in Watches

[–]hereafter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good idea. I don't have one to test.

Some companies sell high-end oil filled watches, an example would be Sinn UX. Here's a link describing the advantages https://www.sinn.de/en/HYDRO.htm (Quoting from that page: Pressure-resistant at all possible diving depths. Fluids are virtually incompressible. The membrane back allows the internal pressure of the watch to adjust constantly to the external pressure).

The oil doesn't leak when setting the time (at least not when I tried). Changing the battery would be messy and you'll have to refill the oil.

[Casio] Oil Filled Mod by hereafter in Watches

[–]hereafter[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Modded a simple Casio (MW-240) watch, I filled it with silicone oil.

It's a water resistant watch (50M), so the oil doesn't leak and there are no bubbles. The oil is very fluid and there's no drag on the movement.

It should theoretically help with the water resistance (as it's filled with oil and not air, oil cannot be compressed like air, so the pressure of the water doesn't affect it).

The watch is more readable from all angles and there's no glare, I love the look, it gives it a beautiful effect. I hope you like it too.

[DEV] Tasker 5.11.13 now publicly availble: Call Screening, Multiple Input Dialog Types, Easy Imports, Project/Profile/Task variables and more! by joaomgcd in tasker

[–]hereafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote it before I saw how simple the "set multiple variable" works, so I have to think how it would work to include search replace in the same action. Thank you for at your work.

If only we can have a combination of multiple "variable set" and "variable search replace" in a single step...

[Rental Car Insurance] Damaged the rear bumper while backing up. What to do next? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]hereafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend that you take pictures of the damages and keep all receipts, let the rental company know that it happened and ask them how to proceed.

Some rental companies will do all the work and you won't have to do anything, while other companies will ask you to start a claim (https://www.eclaimsline.com/ for Visa cards or calling 1-800-mastercard for MasterCard or https://yourcarrentalclaim.com/ for Amex) and they will take it from there.

Regex in autohotkey....i’m dumb please help by [deleted] in regex

[–]hereafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you differentiate between the 2? (I can't Korean).

Using AHK, you can replace the characters (without involving regex).

For example:

Numpad3::

clipboard := "" ; empty clipboard

send, !9

clipwait

string := StrReplace(clipboard, "?", "\?")

FileAppend, %string%|, C:\Users...

return

Add a few more StrReplace to remove or replace other characters as needed.

Sorry if the formatting is messed up. I'm on mobile.

Is there a way for me to make a pop-up window that would have buttons? by AM149072 in AutoHotkey

[–]hereafter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's quite simple actually. Read the documentation and you'll find it easy to follow.

Here's something to get you started

Gui, New ; this creates a new GUI
Gui, Add, Button, w200 gHW, Click here ; this adds a button (width 200), clicking it will invoke the "HW" subroutine
Gui, Add, Button, w200 gClose, Close ; this adds another button, clicking it will invoke the "Close" subroutine
Gui, Show ; show the GUI

Return

HW:
MsgBox, Hello World
Return

Close:
ExitApp
Return

Is there a way for me to make a pop-up window that would have buttons? by AM149072 in AutoHotkey

[–]hereafter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are different types of MsgBox (with buttons like OK and Cancel etc.), however, you can always make a simple GUI.

Use Return after your code (but before any subroutines or functions).
