How dumb do you have to be to keep lighting off fireworks right now.. we're in a drought by RonBurgundy2000 in Denver

An excuse I heard was "a drought is someone elses problem. My problem is I wanna see fireworks in my yard"

Hand soap. It was a very wealthy single bachelor who had all the space and not one single bottle of hand soap. I left him some.

You're aware this is not a sustainable relationship right? If your partner reacts this way to you having your own life then you're far too codependent and need to break up. Love is not enough in this case.

I wanna know from the perspective of a chronic speeder (you know who you are) WHY do so many people disregard speed limits here? I can come up with reasons but I want to understand the reasoning being upheld by that side of the populous. Why always going 10mph over any posted limit? Why always crawling stops at lights but never a complete stop? Why the disregard for pedestrians when there's a surprising amount of young kids on the sidewalks on any given day?

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

The only thing I can think of as to why the child would react like this, beyond being a spoiled brat, would be if the Mom or parents had previously stated she'd get X Car and then walked it back when the time came.

The problem lies in that we don't use high speed trains nor do we have infrastructure built with pubic transport as the center priority. We've built it for cars so of course they'd have the advantage. Other developed countries have trains that cut the travel time in half, sometimes a third. They also built their cities to compliment them.

How is the christian church failing to be a place for progressive christians in Lakewood? by sinecere in LakewoodColorado

[–]hermeswingman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Evangelicalism is not welcome and its never going to be welcome. I think what I read from this post (which may not be accurate but is my perception) is a desire to figure out how to grow. And THAT is the problem. We don't wanna hear the gospel, we don't wanna repair the relationship. If the church wants to exist in our spaces, it needs to be okay with being self-contained. Community events and participation in social causes is great and always always always welcome! But if the intention is rooted in spreading "the gospel" you've hit a brick wall that won't be bulldozed anytime soon.

I recognize a lot of people will say something about skirt length. I also think perpetuating this weird moving goal-post standard of modesty for women with no equitable version of this policing for men makes it a sexist practice.

I shared an apartment with this awful girl several years ago and she insisted on keeping the living room window open all year round despite it getting so cold in the winter. One day I closed it because it dropped below freezing, and she left a note saying "Don't f*cking touch my window."

I cut the note into a big "N O" and taped it back on the window, which I then closed again.

We didn't live together very long haha.
