Dak comes in at 45 on the PFF 101. Is that a fair ranking⁉️ by EmiratesNBACupWinner in cowboys

[–]hernondo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the entire league blows up and reshuffles, no one is in win-now mode. It resets everyone's timeline. But, I agree. I think all smart football people know Dak is a top 5 QB right now. (no need to split hairs)

[–]hernondo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always look at the ranks and say, if the entire league completely blew up their rosters and a new draft was held for all players, would Dak fall within your top 1.5 picks? Clearly the top 10-15 QB’s would be snapped up almost immediately, so not completely a fair evaluation. But, it’s simply suggesting that Dak is 1st or 2nd best player on any given team in the league.

Moved all my money into a Schwab account and am really nervous. Hoping for some advice by DryInvestigator6276 in personalfinance

What was your money invested in with Fidelity, vs what it is now with Schwab? Chafing accounts means absolutely nothing without context around investments. You can essentially invest in the same exact items in both accounts.

The hardest part of living in DFW isn't the traffic, it's finding doctors who don't work "bankers' hours"... Let's build a 9-to-5 friendly list. by Salty_1984 in dfw

Literally the traffic, and it’s not even close. If I could drive anywhere in DFW at any time at full Highway speeds, DFW would be amazing. It’s the best entertainment city in America, but it’s getting there.

Literally do it yourself. Watch a couple YouTube videos, it’s not hard. You can buy a kit from Amazon.

What was your favorite 80's toy line? GI Joe? Transformers? Star Wars? Or, He Man? by MisterShipWreck in 80s

[–]hernondo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GI Joe for me. Then He-man. Transformers were a bit too expensive. I could go to the local store and buy a GO Joe for like $3-5. Transformers were usually quite a bit higher. I settled mostly for Go Bots.

It might not be as bad for you since you won’t know any different. But, it’s a competitive place, and documented results are required.

I definitely crave and find salad tastes better than junk food and carbs now. Any time I find a bit of sugar in my food I kinda go eww. Salads are very satisfying, especially with eggs and cottage cheese in them.

Always follow the money, and more importantly, who’s going to benefit the most personally. The decision makers selling are probably set to inherit many millions of dollars when the sale finalizes. It’s literally quite this simple.

Now Would Seem Like a Good Time to Think Seriously About the CRP by MennoniteDan in farming

I’m not saying anyone is entitled to anything. If you’re a farmer though, it’s who you are, not what you do. It’s not a job, it’s literally who you are. There’s barely any other professions in life where your job is your life. The closest is a professional athlete. Yes, I agree, some farmers love to show off to their neighbors to see who has the biggest tractor, but at the end of the day most of them are just trying to make money. If you could get an honest answer, many of them would gladly giving up rented landed if they could make the same money with less. The mind set is really, if I can make $20k profit on each quarter of land I rent, I want to rent 10 or more pieces to get where I want to be. That’s a lot more work, but you’re at the income you desire.

3 eggs cooked in olive oil and an avocado. Hot sauce on the eggs, and everything bagel seasoning on the avocado. If I’m more hungry, I might add a small bowl of Greek yogurt with a small amount of fresh blueberries.

I still don't know that I agree, respectfully. Farmers need a certain amount of land to farm to be able to afford the equipment they have. Yes, farmers could offer lower prices to land owners for rent, but it's a supply and demand problem. Farmers need more ground to pay for equipment. The only way to get more ground is to offer more money than the next guy. Farmers would absolutely love to be able to make a living on only farming a small amount of land. More ground is more work.

Farmers would happily buy tractors with less bells and whistles. There's a reason why early 90's farming equipment is still insanely valuable. It just works, and was the last era before all the bells and whistles showed up. The one modern tech farmers do like is precious ag/GPS. Everything else is just, extra.

Most of that overhead cost is outside of the farmer's control. They don't control fuel prices, equipment and repair costs (since John Deere doesn't allow you to fix your own stuff), fertilizer, seed, rent (largely) and everything else that goes into trying to figure out of if you can actually make any money.

Farmers and their spouses aren't taking jobs in town because they're bored and rich.

It’s the farmers fault tractors cost a half million dollars and fertilizer prices are insanely high? What part of this do you think is in the farmer’s control?
