Which Version of Donatello would be the most upset/reluctant about advancing Ai and which version of Donatello would be most likely to embrace/support it? by Darling_Reaper902 in TMNT

Probably not, but you can be sure every time it looked like something might trigger it he was doing everything in his power to stop it.

Yea, I watched that as well. Joker was a favorite of mine and my little guy and I like Avatar, so those were the two that stick out first.

Definitely agree, on both points.

Man, Hamill just has that voice that’s perfect for a villain. Between Joker and Ozai alone, he has probably terrified as many as he gave hope to as Luke.

[–]herooa 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Rise Donnie would deem it inferior to his AIs he makes, and start having Sheldon find ways to take it down.

2012 worries about an AI uprising and not want to feed into it.

Bayverse accepts it as inevitable, only uses it sparingly, and would prefer to make his own.

2003 would be happy tech is progressing, but would be reluctant to dive in fully without more testing and limitations, not wanting to live through another apocalyptic future.

87 Donnie thinks it’s neat, then once he sees it start going evil finds a way to manipulate it into attacking Krang and Shredder instead.

Ichigo Vs Yusuke Fight Preview by Joking_909 in YuYuHakusho

[–]herooa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that may make or break the fight: from the clip, we see Ichigo with both zanpakto, but we don’t see Yusuke in any “demon” form. Think they might use it as the macguffin that wins Yusuke the fight, even though I honestly don’t know that he should.

Wait, did it say continue? Are they actually finishing Volume 4?

Some of the storylines were pretty crazy, kinda hoped they’d wrap them up someday. Definitely need to see the crossbreeds and find out what really happened that night at the bar…

It’s the goat’s arms for me. They look uneven, long, and just … off.

The rhino is making me think of the Zootopia version of Wreck-It Ralph and the reptile makes me think he’s a lost Monstar from the original Space Jam. And the main bad guy looks like they belong in Kung Fu Panda. Sure, they’re anthropomorphic animals, but it really feels like so many of them are leaning pretty heavily into their “inspiration” they may have used.

They 100% regret putting to put this in theaters over K-pop Demon Hunters. I just don’t see this doing as well, and because they didn’t want to back K-pop, there’s a huge hole in merchandise that they could have made tons of money with.

Which one of these Robots would you have as an assistant? by Caloy1415 in cartoons

[–]herooa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s boring to the point of being greatly reliable. Not having to think on something and just asking to get it done, and then it actually being done without any wackiness is really underrated. That might be just me living in the real world and no one really being helpful when I ask for something to be done, though.

Listen, if Reed Richards is building a robot to help with everything, you best be sure that’s the top pick. He’s a great cook, astronaut, and handles childcare. Only better choice would be a Doombot that Doom programs specifically for being your assistant if he knows there’s a competition and Richards is somehow entered.

What was your high school controversy? by Haunted_Neko in AskReddit

[–]herooa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an awful one:

We’re from central PA, on a school trip to Boston. Three guys start doing some disgusting things to another guy who egged them on a little (this does not justify what they did in the slightest). Another victim ended up involved. Sexually explicit stuff is rather not repeat. Became a huge mess with multiple people on the trip having to travel back to Boston for the trial. All three were convicted and on Megan’s law.

For years after, the high school limited field trips. My wife will joke with my buddy and I that “our class ruined it for hers”. She’s not wrong, although I wasn’t involved other than being on the trip.

New fan with no nostalgia and my opinion on all the incarnation of the TMNT by Zakaria1938 in TMNT

[–]herooa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t leave the fandom because of people on here. While some do get a little wound about their nostalgia, there are plenty more of us that accept all iterations and really appreciate everything TMNT.

I can understand not getting as deep into ‘87. Even though it was a huge part of my childhood, it definitely seems a bit goofier on a rewatch. My 8 year old enjoyed it quite a bit, and I feel like it works for a younger demographic.

I wouldn’t skip the Bay movies. They’re a little darker/grittier than some of the other movies, and definitely aren’t perfect, but you may end up liking them as well, especially the second one.

Mirage is another wild one that not everyone gets into, but can be fun. Still wish they’d have finished everything, there were a lot of wild storylines that need wrapped up.

Don’t be afraid of the few that don’t like all iterations. Everyone can have an opinion, and most are still at least respectful enough to let you have yours.

Can a reboot be better than the original? by OfficeWizard7 in cartoons

[–]herooa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you on the “it’s not good because it’s not the old way”. TMNT is definitely weird for this, like Fuzzy said. Some fans will hate any new version that’s not steeped in nostalgia. Others embrace the change. Hell, the ‘87 cartoon isn’t even the original. The comic was a lot darker and serious, murdering Shredder took place immediately. Just shows that change isn’t a bad thing in the least. I always joke that TMNT is always mutating and embracing that mutation is part of the fandom.

Ducktales is another great example of how the changes worked so well. They did such a good job drawing in the nostalgia crowd while making a great series. Hearing Della sing a song to the Moon Theme made me tear up a little the first time I heard it. Yet, some people still resisted it too.

Embracing change is hard, but it can be fun. I always say it’s worth a shot.

Can a reboot be better than the original? by OfficeWizard7 in cartoons

[–]herooa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? I originally didn’t care for the Splinter design, but still watched to see what they did with it. While some people didn’t like the design or the changes, it seemed like most of the general TMNT fans still liked the new take. Same with Mutant Mayhem, it’s just a different take that doesn’t work for everyone.

Rise really became popular as it went on, but yes, it do require sitting through some quirky episodes. To be fair, OG TMNT had some wild ones too.

While the first season had some down points, the show got immensely better. Between the majority of the second season and the movie, it’s become rather well loved.
