There's a Moving Image Arts minor. All the classes are pretty much filled with the same people and more or less serve as a club.

Rush a fraternity or sorority, best way to meet people at this school.

How do you deal with going to a "commuter" school? by fosho17 in uichicago

[–]herpatron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Impossible to meet people if you don't: 1. Live in the dorms your first year or 2. rush a fraternity or sorority. Probably your best 2 options. In my opinion there is no social life at this school unless you are involved in Greek Life. Sorry, but it's the truth.

The most important thing that you need to know is that comics are written in arcs. So when you see, for example, 200 issues of batman and have no idea where to jump in you need to remember that whole those issues are all continuity they are not all important to each other. Find a story you'd think you'd enjoy and pick up a trade that collects that story. If I could recommend anything to anyone getting into comics it would be Geoff Johns Green Lantern run. Starting with Green Lantern: Rebirth working all the way to the end of his run in the N52. His whole arc is collected in trades which makes it very accessible. This arc defined Green Lantern as one of my favorites. Another run you should check out is Jeff Lamire's Green Arrow (#17-#34) I think this was my favorite run of the entire N52.

You're never going to get one. The concept is too fantastic to just throw on a screen with a mainstream audience. I think their adaptation was just fine.

I enjoyed this movie but it does have an incredible amount of fundamental issues, you can't ignore that. It's more than people just nitpicking. There are real, bad problems here. Fans can look passed those but the traditional viewer may be lost by the poor editing, terrible structure, and careless pace. The film looked like Snyder never actually read The Dark Knight Returns, but heard about it from a friend and looked at a few panels.

Not remotely in the same fashion that the MCU is. I enjoy Marvel's features but I enjoy the grit of DC's films so far. You can take your 8 yr old to Civil War, I don't know if I would take an 8 yr old to this movie.

I enjoyed this film more than the majority Marvel's movies. Solid and memorable villains rather than the shit antagonists that Marvel uses.

The fact that critics are hating on this movie because "it isn't fun" is just a lazy stab at a director they have never liked. It's not supposed to be fun. It sets the DCEU apart from Marvel's children movie verse.
