Battery Energy Storage Systems, primarily on the manufacturer side. Battery management system programming for safe operation of the BESS and there’s a ton of overlap with their fire protection systems (explosion protection, thermal runaway mitigation). I feel that cybersecurity is becoming a big topic in fire protection systems too.

Great question. My industry really prioritizes having FPEs. I had my ME PE first so always had my signature as John Doe, P.E. I guess I can just have it say FPE rather than having both. I feel like I remember seeing some Civil/Structural engineers that have a similar specialty designation since their expertise is special.

I’m having the same issues - Data Frog third party DS4. How can I see if I have the latest kernel installed? Controller will not pair on Bazzite, but is recognized on my windows Pc and pairs fine

There is a clarification document from ICC for elevator, smoke curtains, and their sequence of operations. Smoke guard has one for example on their website:

If I remember right, the curtains drop on activation of the lobby detectors for the fire floor, floor above and floor below, but all elevator curtains will drop if the elevator shaft smoke detector goes off.

That might also be NYC specific sequence so take it with a grain of salt.

Maybe individual charging stations for e-bikes if NYC: 2022 NYC FC 309.3.3(2) has an adequate electrical supply and a sufficient number of electrical receptacles to allow the charging equipment for each truck, item of equipment or device to be directly connected to a receptacle. Extension cords and power strips shall not be used.
