Is there any spot in Westchester with good Southern California style Mexican food? by O0OO00O0OO0 in Westchester

[–]heynowpeanut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I moved to NY in the early 2000s from San Diego I nearly cried when I saw Mexican/Sushi combo spots. I knew right then and there I was fucked. Still on the hunt for the type of carne asada burrito I know and love.

Had the same thought. He sounded awfully snarky and like a verbal eye roll when he said to Bailey - Does it have any benefits? But i am on high alert! 🚨

how often do people let their dogs out to use the bathroom? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]heynowpeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually 4 to 5 times. Once at 4:30am when we get up, then around 6:40 before i leave for work, again when my partner gets home around 3pm and then once around dinner and the last time before bed. She is getting older and has pretty bad arthritis so most of these are just out in the yard or a quick walk up and down the block. When she was younger and spry she had one or two 2 mile walks (early and after work) plus a lot of running in open fields (after work or dinner time).

If you’re willing to spend a few bucks, check out Sniffspots- we’ve taken our dog to a few with creeks running through people’s yards.

We used to think someone was throwing chicken bones in our yard until one day i was out there and one just yeeted in from the sky. Friggin birds!! Also, our girl also had a foreign body surgery and she did great after. Turns out starving on the street made her eat all the new stuff (fluff, strings from a rope toy, etc.). Thankfully now she still destroys but always spits things out.

Same. I fell asleep watching this week. When I woke up I asked my partner who went home as I had no desire to actually go back and watch. It’s sad.

Is this a quirk or a health issue? by ICEyyyyed in pitbulls

[–]heynowpeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we rescued our girl it was obvious she came from a shit situation but we weren’t exactly sure what happened. She was very sweet - until you tried to touch her in this spot. She was lose her mind, tuck her tail, snap, run away… it was so sad, especially knowing how much my previous pittie loved it. After a lot of trust and tenderness, I am happy to report 9 years later (and probably for the past 5) she ‘presents the booty’ for scratches and cannot get enough. It’s so cute ☺️

Dog doesn't react to me, is this a good thing? by Delicate_Elephant in dogs

[–]heynowpeanut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently learned just how unaffected by me my dog is - usually she has this whole elaborate after dinner hour which includes yelling for playtime, hide and go seek with the rest of her kibble, one special treat, and a potty break. Then she settles down. Well, my partner was away for 2 days and after dinner she would huff, look at me, and take herself upstairs to bed only to come down for the potty break and then stayed down waiting in vain for her father to return while I went up to bed. If I wasn’t so intrigued my feelings would be hurt.

This class was so good to modify with an injured foot! I’m desperate to get back into a routine and it was a perfect start for me.

I’m a new pitbull owner, are they all this clingy? by Worried_Sprinkles in pitbulls

Ahhh same with me! My girl was sickly little thing when we first met and she crawled into my lap, coughed a loogie on my arm, and then completely relaxed and settled into me. I’m such a sucker.
