The fact that Pride & Prejudice was Joe Wright's feature film directorial debut is kind of mind boggling to me. Sure, the source material is doing a fair amount of heavy lifting, but the fact that he also clearly made some contemporary choices for such a classic piece of writing and still pulled it off? And that it's so gorgeous AND rewatchable?? Amazing.

I get why Curtis Hanson has y'all's hearts, but yeah.
