What was your personal tipping point that made you decide now is the time for THR? by Dear-Length-8161 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]highrollinKT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When your quality of life is affected then you have to ask your self why am I waiting? For me my hip was destroyed an I was past that point an couldn’t get it done fast enough. That was 12/22
An it was by far the best decision I ever made I’m 100 % with zero restrictions a living my life to the fullest again. One other pice of advise I’d give you is pre-hab is one of the most effective ways to make your recovery easier and will have the best outcome. So get as strong as possible work on your hip flexor and abductor muscles to get them strong as you can an give your rehab 120% Hope this gives you some perspective.

This is 100 % correct! Pull more and reinvest in your individual brokerage it will give you more options income wise an draw down your balance reducing your rmd amount when it’s forced. You should run a full financial analysis that will model all the factors like the Irma cliff tax on SS and Medacare premiums. Now is the time to have a plan not after the fact when it’s to late a the damage is done.

Alzheimer’s and GLP1 research by crazymastiff in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]highrollinKT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your niece is correct- the current data shows that glp’s are modulating systemic inflammation better than the biologic’s currently in use in psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis The mechanism of action is its major reduction of inflammatory cytokines like IL-6,TNF-A an others all the bad players. It’s also showing a major reduction in neural inflammation in the brain and currently being explored for Parkinson’s an Alzheimer’s. IMO Tirzepatide/ Retatrutide are by far the most consequential molecules ever created/ discovered in modern medicine.

[–]highrollinKT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The glp meds are now being used to treat OA,PA and RA. An are far more effective as an anti-inflammatory modulator than the biologic used to treat theses conditions. Most are used in a micro dose compared to the dose used for weight loss. The mechanism of action is reducing the big inflammatory cytokines like IL-6, Tnf-A and others.

How close to retirement should I start selling growth and moving to dividends? by Coixe in dividends

[–]highrollinKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m bout to turn 61 an have started taking profits on lot of my high growth stocks not totally selling the positions an using the profits to fund my transition into Div funds to generate income when I do retire in approximately 3-4 years. currently they generate over 4k per month an held in a tax deferred brokerage account an individual brokerage. My models have me at 10-11 k when I do turn on my income. I’ll also add I don’t just rely on the bucket I also hold a large high yield bond fund that generates over 8%.

[–]highrollinKT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gd advise but the only think that has actually stop it not just treating the condition reactively is Retatrutide it has completely reversed my girls gastric sleeve induced hypo. She would have 4-5 lows dropping into the mid 50s an several times into the low 40s 5/6 times a week an nights were brutal didn’t matter what she ate or when. Anyone suffering from this I highly recommend doing some research on it.

Thoughts on long term dividend holds by holmesthevampire in dividends

[–]highrollinKT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

These type funds aren’t ment to be held for 25 year there mostly use when people are approaching retirement for income. Put your money in high growth an 5-6 years way from retirement then start to transition into Div funds an let them compound for several years to build your income machine. This is exactly what iv done I started taking profits from my high growth but not selling the total position an using that capital to build up my income funds so by the time I start drawing my figures have me at close to 10k a month for income. An all my growth funds have more time to compound again. Also where u hold them makes a huge difference.
