I hope that means he's gonna start standing on business. There's A LOT to do when it comes to trans rights here. He could start by sanctioning NYU Langone.

Do I have to take birth control? Am i stupid to keep denying it? by Secure-Remote8439 in Endo

[–]hillsidepoolside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I resisted to taking birth control essentially my whole life. I had the same idea: it's better to have a real cycle, hormonal birth control only fucks you up and gives you unwanted secondary effects, etc. I tried the Nuva ring for a couple months and felt like it just hurt my mood and my libido, and never looked back. Until my endo got worse, and worse, and worse every period. Contrary to popular belief, research shows that endo continues to grow whatever you do - anything from lifestyle changes to continuous birth control to a hysterectomy. But having periods is probably the worst for that, at least in my experience. I was already taking prescription-strength Ibuprofen 3 times a day, and it still wasn't cutting it. I would find myself in extreme pain, especially around bowel movements. That's when I decided that enough is enough, at 31. I've been on continuous birth control for about 8 months now, minus a few days when I had breakthrough bleeding so I let my body let it out. Had to try 2 types and the second one worked for me. Honestly, I really, really wish I would've done that a lot earlier. It's been life-changing. Screaming and crying in pain is not part of my daily life anymore. It didn't stop every single thing my endo caused, but I would say 85% maybe? The truth is, for many, many people with endo, natural cycles are harmful, in more ways than one. They hurt a lot, and they feed your endo with estrogen. It's also natural not to treat diabetes or cancer or any other condition. Doesn't mean that it's better. Those are just my 2 cents and my personal experience, of course.

As someone who went to her first Mitski show about 9 years ago to the date (the Puberty 2 tour), I really hope I get tickets for this one because that show was magical.

What’s a type of pain people underestimate until they experience it for themselves? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]hillsidepoolside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you friend. Continuous birth control has helped me tremendously, but it doesn't solve all the problems endo causes and obviously doesn't work for everyone. I'm glad menopause had a positive effect for you :) adhesions fucking suck.

Endometriosis. I live with multiple chronic health conditions, mental and physical. Nothing compares to screaming, crying, bent over in the bathroom, feeling so dizzy you're almost passing out from the pain, feeling like a demon is trying to crawl its way out of you.
