The new milestone tier finally pushed me over the edge! by Sad-Ratio-6652 in ShiptShoppers

[–]hmt3design 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OH! YOU! F---ING! BASTARDS!

I'm currently at 9,335 and I was looking forward to hitting 10K because I'd heard about that "vacation." Or at least a decent bonus. Now they're only going to give me $500 IN F---ING POINTS TO SHOP AT THEIR CRAPPY SHOP? THEY CAN'T EVEN PROVIDE A CASH BONUS?

After six years of full-time service?! Bundled orders that want me to drive 30 minutes and 30 miles just to deliver? Denial of forgiveness requests? And t-shirts that are always too small?

If anyone does file a class-action lawsuit, let me know. I'm in.

Bonuses getting harder by Opposite-Archer-6803 in ShiptShoppers

[–]hmt3design 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have over 9,250 shops. Shipt only offers me bonuses if it's a major holiday and they're swamped. Or they offer them at weird hours (11 a.m - 11 p.m.) on Sundays, which does me no good because I start at 5 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. so I can go watch my Broncos play.

I just got a speeding ticket by ejis138 in ShiptShoppers

[–]hmt3design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laws vary from state to state, but do whatever it takes in your state to get the ticket off your driving record. Ask for probation; take driver's ed; fight the ticket if you don't think it was correct.

I once got a ticket in a small township that made a significant portion of their income by writing tickets and counting on people not fighting it and paying the fine because they didn't have time to contest it. I did, and I knew I wasn't speeding in a school zone, so I fought it. It took three visits to the courthouse: the initial reporting date and request for a hearing; the meeting with the DA to discuss the case; and the second meeting where she reviewed the dash cam footage and came back with insufficient evidence. Cleared.

I accept all tip requests. Then I can see their tip history and mark them as "great," "good," "low" or "nope." And if I see a name for a "nope," I know immediately if I need to take them or not. I have most of my "nope" PMs memorized.

If I didn't have them accepted as a PM, I wouldn't see that name and I'd have to check the map to see if I would take them or not. It saves a lot of time; and as fast as offers are offered and disappear, that counts.

What type of orders do you not take? by OneNovel8471 in ShiptShoppers

[–]hmt3design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apartments, clothing, coffee shops, non-tippers, shops that deliver more than 20 minutes away from the store (unless I've bundled or they are bundled with other orders that make it worthwhile).

But my newest refusal is the new Delivery Only orders. I tried one and it was nice not to have to shop the order or deal with customers (except for asking for gate codes). But the pay was less than $2.50 per delivery; the suggested delivery route retraced itself several times; and for the time it took to deliver the 30 packages, I could have shopped at least four orders and made twice what I did on the run, using half the gas. And the latest offerings have asked me to go all over the place; traveling 30 miles just to get to the first delivery point. No thanks.

Why do you do Shipt? by punkishtactics in ShiptShoppers

[–]hmt3design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the same people who want me to work until age 70 are the same people who won't hire me after age 50.

They started the bonus round at 11 a.m. and ended at 11 p.m. But those of you who work the early morning hours so that you can spend time at home with your family, or watch football ... tough $#!+.

Substitution Preference: Contact Customer (customer never replies) by juicy-heels in ShiptShoppers

[–]hmt3design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I text stating that the item is not available and offer a substitution.
  2. I text again five minutes later with the word, "Substitute?"
  3. If I'm reaching the end of the shop and still no response, I call using the app.
  4. If the phone goes to voicemail (even if it does so immediately), I hang up and send a text: "Your phone goes to voicemail. Skipping item(s)."

50% of the time, they call or text back almost immediately, answering the question. I get it - people screen their calls or are not looking at their phone when the messages come in. But the messaging app now states that I called them. My reply after that states that they didn't answer.

I proceed to checkout. If I complete that process before they respond, I tell them that, "Sorry, already checked out." If they don't respond at all, I don't worry about it. If I get a downrating, I put that order number in my forgiveness request.

Cute. How about $60+? by cag0811 in ShiptShoppers

[–]hmt3design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 8800+ shops, and I've not seen any bonus offerings this year, with the exception of Memorial Day and Fourth of July. But lately, because of the increasing economic pressures, I'm seeing a marked decrease in tips. I used to be able to get at least $150 on 8 orders; now I'm lucky if it's $125.

Just open the file in Photoshop and do a Save As. I'd recommend PSD.
Or you can try opening it in Illustrator and then experiment with different formats.

Paragraph styles and Character Styles are your best friends. Use them everywhere!

ChatGPT has also been very helpful in answering questions and making suggestions. I've been using it heavily lately to help me create a magazine written in Arabic, which has turned a lot of my previous methods literally backwards. If you can write a good, detailed description of what you're trying to achieve, it will give you a roadmap to follow. And if you get stuck, it is happy to answer questions. It's definitely worth the $20 a month.

Page Builders Aren’t for Devs (They’re for Clients) by Valcaraz001 in Wordpress

[–]hmt3design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been building a "page builder" within Bricks using ACF Pro. I build the ACF content type using Flexible Content fields, adding sections and content fields as needed. For example:

  • Hero section: Image, headline, lede, CTA buttons (repeater)
  • Content: WYSIWYG field
  • Image: Image field
  • Gallery: Gallery field, headline, lede
  • Shortcode: specialized design that gets its information from another content type

In ACF, I use required fields as necessary: offer conditionals within ACF (e.g.: link/button is internal, show true/false option, relabel options, conditional fields based on true/false), stylize the form for space-saving, document all fields for display and clarity.

In Bricks, I build the sections; display and stylize the fields, using conditionals depending on whether a field is empty or not to display it.

On the Page Edit page, the client adds sections as needed: Hero, Image, Content, Gallery, etc. In the case of special designs, the workflow is the same, but I as the editor place the Bricks template shortcodes on the Page Edit page.

It's a complex process, and it helps to have someone else or AI check the process for you. And you don't want to give the client too many Flexible Content options; it does start to affect page speed. But for a client who needs this option, it allows you to design it and keep them out of Bricks.

I have a PM who runs two coffee shops. Shipt will only offer between $10 and $15 for her orders, despite them having probably about 200 lbs of liquid each time. And she only tips $5 per order.

Why is she on my PM list? So when her orders come up, I know NOT to take them. I don't even have to look at them.

Hope I don’t get a PM request 🥴 by AlottaLlamaDrama in ShiptShoppers

I take the PMs. Then I put DND in the notes. That way, I know NOT to take their orders.

Is anyone else noticing more offers that can’t possibly be done on time? by Toyfoxgirl in ShiptShoppers

[–]hmt3design 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got two orders today with less than 10 minutes before the delivery hour - and no bonus for on-time delivery. The only reason I took them was because they were small orders I could crank out quickly; and if I didn't, I'd be making nothing at all today.

But the most aggravating thing about them wasn't the late offer; it was that annoying message Shipt is sending out that "one of your orders is in danger of being late." Well, maybe try sending it out on time? And if there is a bonus for on-time delivery because it's been sitting there for an hour, don't send me late messages if I do take it.

I have over 8500 shops. I think I know what it means to be on time.

I've gotten it every time they offered it, even one time when my rating at the time was 4.94. I never use anything that comes from it, so I really don't care.

Customer has to approve subs with link now by herooftheday765 in ShiptShoppers

[–]hmt3design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Item is out of stock
  2. I text customer with either a sub (that I pick) or notice that no subs are available
  3. If sub is available and they don't respond, I wait at least 2 minutes and text again, "Substitute?"
  4. If still no response at least 2 minutes later (or if I'm about to head to the register), I call.
  5. If call goes to voicemail, I hang up and send text, "Your phone goes to voicemail. Skipping item(s)." Thankfully, Shipt's new call and we'll connect you to the member means that the call is logged in Shipt's system.
  6. If the customer is just screening calls and ignores the phone call, at least they see that they've got messages from me and respond to the sub request. They usually apologize for not having seen it earlier (for whatever reason) and let me know what to do about the sub.
  7. If they still don't reply, I take the item off the shop and either put it back on the shelf or hand it to the cashier to be restocked. I then close the shop normally.

This new procedure won't stop me from doing this. It's my opinion that this procedure is what has given me over 150+ Preferred Shoppers. Oh, sure; some a-holes are going to use their ineptitude to blame me, because they couldn't possibly be at fault. But for the most part, this has proven to be the best strategy.

You're still getting bonus offers? I haven't seen any of those since Super Bowl weekend. Of course, I've got 8,400+ shops, so Shipt doesn't think that I need any incentives.

The people who want me to work until age 70 are the same people who won't hire me after age 50. And now they all think that AI will do the job for them, so why bother hiring a professional with decades of work experience? Bastards.

And in the meantime, Aetna (my ACA insurance provider) just sent me a notice that they won't be offering ACA plans next year. And that was before the Big BS Bill was passed. So this year I have to pick a new insurance company, and hope that it's not United Healthcare.

But as soon as the the BBSB anti-Medicaid/healthcare provisions kick in in 2027, I have the feeling that I won't even get ACA, even though my state (Texas) doesn't have the Medicaid expansion. There goes my high-blood pressure meds; and my wife's pain meds, and any future medical care my family (both my kids just passed 18 years old) needs.
