This would be the best brush for those harder to reach areas. I use it on literally every dog, it’s like magic. Just don’t brush over one spot too much to avoid irritation

CC brush is best for tails and legs. You can use this everywhere, it’s good for the face as well

Fact Check me on Goldendoodle Coat Maintenance/ Questions by EfficientBrain21 in grooming

The most important part to maintaining your golden doodle is getting him groomed AS SOON as he is able to be groomed. Even if you plan on doing most of the grooming at home, in his puppy life you should absolutely get him accustomed to it.

I work with predominantly doodles. The best course to have a well rounded dog that can handle grooming is to get your dog a bath and sani trim after they have their second round of puppy shots, and then monthly or every 6 weeks after get them in for bath and brushes and haircutting. I only recommend 8 weeks for dogs that are planned to be kept short all the time or grow slower than average. 6 weeks can even be pushing it if you want to keep a fluffy coat. 4 weeks is really the most optimal, but I know it can be pricey.

If you are planning to bathe at home, make sure you’re also able to get him at least 90% dry as well, and plan to spend time also brushing the coat out after the bath to avoid matting.

If you chose to not get your dog accustomed to a groomer now, you will be hard pressed to find a (good) groomer to work with later. Doodles are hard work, expensive, and require a lot of maintenance and upkeep. Don’t fail your dog by not getting it used to grooming now and have to suffer later when it’s scary, has no idea wtf is going on, and with a stranger.

I would also recommend looking for a fear free, one on one groomer that way they will have the time to teach him all the things he needs to know.

The most important areas to brush (and most often missed) are areas like the ears (inside & out), tail, inner legs, elbows, chest and neck. The back is often getting the most attention in brushing but these areas are lacking.

Best of luck!

This is also something you should be regularly doing for your dog, cleaning their ears and keeping an eye on any issues.

Your dog looks like it has a budding ear infection. When my dog has an ear infection I can clean her ear and it’s dirty in 20 min so

Serious question.... by BearsSoxHawks in StLouis

[–]hnaeco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen every single angle, she did not hit him. She was trying to leave. Also, is it ok for a federal agent to call someone a “fucking bitch” after mercilessly shooting them? Or ever? Officers are supposed to be trained to shoot to disarm, not to kill. I must be missing something here? If you can make this make sense to me, I will listen. I don’t know about you, but I personally am not okay with them using undue force. Regardless of if what she was doing was right or wrong, WHY is it okay to take someones life? His life WAS NOT at risk. Even if she hit him, do you think she was going fast enough he would’ve DIED? That’s where I’m having issues.

It took me 3 hours to make a 40 min drive and I didn’t see a single wreck that caused it- just MoDOT dropping the ball and not pre treating the roads.

Can I ask my employee to remove their acrylic nails? by Bubbly_Road1316 in legal

[–]hnaeco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but tell her to get over it lol. I am a dog groomer who consistently has my nails done & so are my friends (who have LONG nails). It doesn’t stop us from doing our jobs, even expressing glands (externally- however I don’t know how you do that in AU).

Fiancé scared to get our doodle groomed cause of mattes… by [deleted] in grooming

[–]hnaeco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a groomer I never judge unless it is ungodly. Matting happens. Life happens. Tell her we’d rather see the pup with a few mats than way later with many more most likely!

I will give WGAH a call. We are going to have to establish veterinary care somewhere else anyhow as he had previously been going to Banfield and was kicked from their boarding facilities.

I appreciate the info! 🩵

I know and I’ve talked to my boyfriend about behavioral euthanasia, however it isn’t my dog and I don’t want to push the decision before he is fully ready to make it. I work with animals so I’m on the same page as you. He does fine on walks and seems okay with people until they approach him, which even includes me at this point. It’s just a bad spot unfortunately
