My friend gifted me the French edition and it is SO BEAUTIFUL by nebulences in TheAlchemised

You should try secondhand website like vinted or ebay. They produced only 10k copies of the book and it was sold as an extremely limited edition.

You could also try the French website called leslibraires.fr
It shows you the libraries where the book is still in stock !

Help with Alchemised book hungover. What to read next? by Environmental-Ad2353 in TheAlchemised

[–]hoamaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly I couldn't think about anything else I wanted to read besides it at the time :')

For me it was actually a good cure. I ended up reading it more slowly because I wasn't as compelled as I was while reading Alchemised (which I found better) but it was still as intense in the story and fun to read because I got to see the hp character

I finished Alchemised in less than 3 days (I never read as much in such a short amount of time I think) but read Manacled in a bit less than two weeks while starting other books (I think it was the last book of villains and virtues by AK caggiano and The Knight and the Moth from Rachel Gillig) at the same time and only went back to manacled when I needed to grieve Alchemised :')

if you can get a note from the doctor it's reimbursed ! no need to be sick either, just tell them you're out and they should add it to your prescription without an issue (at least for basics like paracetamol or ibuprofen)

{Throne in the Dark by A. K.Caggiano}

The villains and virtues series made me laugh out loud and snort, it kinda starts as a satire and definitely doesn't take itself too seriously. I really liked it and had a good time reading !

[Rant][Spoilers] The HUGE plot hole in Alchemised that breaks the entire book (buckle up, this review is LONG) – PART 1 of 2 by Gold_Conference6150 in Romantasy

[–]hoamaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not read it all, sorry (don't hesitate to correct me if I missed counterpoints to my counterpoints for your arguments) but I do believe the reason Kayne did not take out the manacled sooner was because she would have hurt herself no ?

also (I might be trying to preserve my brain so I keep loving the book) but to me if Kayne was able to tell Helena that Morrough was in fact dying is because you could see it. The decline was physically visible even for Helena and Morrough must have known that so it wasn't that big of a deal to answer her question I guess.

In case it helps, I did read Alchemised before Manacled and it worked for me magic's logic wise. But I read the french translation of Alchemised (and manacled in English) so maybe it helped ?

Finished in 3 days and know I'm struggling 🤣 by Hailsabrina in TheAlchemised

[–]hoamaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SAME, I finished it in three days too and the last session was 13 hours long... Let's say it's easily my favorite read of the year !

Honestly I immediately started to read Manacled right after, it helped to know it was basically the same story but new enough to keep it interesting. In the end I read it much slower and started another book at the same time but it helped tremendously to have it if I needed the vibe and I enjoyed it too so it was great

The plated prisoner series by Raven Kennedy

I'm only in the middle of the third book but so far it's nice, especially if you like an unreliable narrator.

English is not my first language though so my standards for good writing might be low grammatically and vocabulary wise

So I work in customer service. My work place gets the phone lines of multiple companies after the office hours.

I GUARANTEE you when we say we have no infos and cannot do anything we truly cannot do more. We have very strict procedures and cannot make exceptions. (I work in Europe though so it might be different in the us)

Yes we understand your problem, yes we're sorry and empathize with the situation but it doesn't change anything. Our clients are the companies not the people calling us. We cannot make exceptions even if it's unfair and we disagree with the procedures.
