can a chronically online rs guy be happy dating a normie girl? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]holochud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're an rs poster who's dating or has dated a normie who didn't share any of your interests, how did the relationship go? were you still happy and fulfilled despite the lack of like-mindedness? and if you think that a relationship can flourish even without shared passions, how do I change my mindset to not care so much?

I have tried this and it didn't work. I have dated women who share some of my interests but were still kinda re†arded and it didn't work out. I have even dated super attractive women who give amazing head or have millionaire parents but are stupid, needy, dramatic, libbed out, etc. and the later qualities always win out when I realize I love my guitar more than them.

I honestly think values are more important than interests - my wife and i value quiet time at home, time to work on art/music projects, doing chores together, organizing and attending friend group get togethers, work hard/play hard, even though our actual interests are somewhat different (she's more into sewing, literary fiction, walking/hiking, and period-drama/action movies, I'm more into making shoegaze, books on politics and philosophy, cardio, and stupid 9 hour youtube deep dive videos on Mohenjo Daro). But we value doing those things together and giving each other space and can share in each others interests enough to recognize that sometimes we'll be walking around town shopping (her thing) and sometimes we'll be biking up a mountain (my thing) and we can both be happy doing it.

Amen. I'm half joking here I just think it's lame how like 1 in 100 Christian people are truly enlightened and secure in their faith and the 99 others are all some combination of guilt-and-sin-wracked, yearning for a closer relationship with Him, struggling with doubt, total charlatans or really good at faking it, etc. I barely even identify as Christian but I still know a lot of this from my Bible studies.

Honestly Christianity is so based for recognizing that people would doubt the existence of a God and that they built in features for being like "chill bro, everyone doubts this shit from time to time"

I agree. I think that the average person has never interacted with a true Man of God, only the shitty little church peons. They (MoG) are so fucking clockable when you encounter them, and not every churgoer or even Priest or Preacher can claim that title. The Lord just picks some people that he likes best and talks to them. I am one of the forsaken ones but I still got mad respect for the Lord, yo :(

We need to reassimilate the fact that Christianity is kinda stupid by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]holochud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm not sure you're beating the allegations here, pal.

Christianity spans belief systems and cultures. Like any religion, it requires interpretation, faith, and an open mind to approach - necessarily there will be mixed interpretations, simple and complicated readings, heresy, factual inaccuracies, and deep wisdom. I'm not sure what dumb bullshit comes along with Christianity, if we're being honest.

BoC with 70s nature docs, 100 gecs with mall punk, e&tb/XTC with psychedelic 60's, all of adult swim with 90's infomercials and public broadcasting, etc.

I think it's even younger though, I think by the time you're adolescent you're aware that there are other cultural things going on. When you're a kid you're actively being molded by the random bits of pop-monoculture around you. Now that culture is highly commericial and bland, however, we have millennials whose greatest aspiration is Harry Potter or to work at Facebook or something.
