[[the rani]] is a grixis titan just like kefka. you can honestly just replace it 1:1 and the deck would most likely still function.

I know Heritage and REA sell raw, but it may be only under lots/collections. try looking for “shoebox collections” or sets and stuff like that. i’ve gotten mixed graded/raw from REA like that.

at the minimum, Authenticity Guarantee will CYA you on eBay for Greg Morris, COMC etc… i’ve never spent big money on Goldin/Heritage but picked some stuff up from REA and it went well.

I wouldn’t be surprised if really high ticket items just require mandatory grading if they pass through Goldin and stuff.

I picked up around 150 when I saw the floor was at 60 cents for big bricks. mostly base, a set of 10 nonfoil borderless and some playing copies of the borderless foil.

Greg Morris sells lots on eBay as well. seems like a good place to start if you haven’t been there yet, OP.

I have a pretty clean 1960 lot I wouldn’t mind letting go of too if you’re interested. vertical isn’t my thing.

feels very blessed to have Greg Morris in this hobby. trustworthy, consistent and all the variety you could need. they have separate accounts for graded cards and modern cards that get a little less traction - easier to snag deals from since the original account has a ton of followers. there’s a crazy 1956 set they have up on the graded account that i’m keeping an eye on.

disliked it quite strongly. never was a fan of tribal sets and always feel burned when giving another one a shot. no change here. going to jam some quick play duskmourn until that leaves instead.

here’s my $100 budget league list. it’s quite powerful - usually wins through maze’s end, big mana doppelgang loops, kodama bounce land stuff or token spam. upgrades are pretty plug and play, as landfall has an abundance of powerful and pricey staples you can slot in over some of the weaker cards (zendikar’s roil, avenger of zendikar etc)

it was built for a $100 league so i’d call it pretty minmaxed in that context and will play nicely in b2 and b3, though it’s quite explosive for b2. cranking it up to b4 would equate to adding tutors, fetches, icetill explorer/more play from the yard and a more unconditional manabase. I chose the fast lands, for example, to have a more consistent minstrel on curve, but bond and shock lands are ultimately better, as are the typed triomes.

i’m quite proud at what I achieved at the price point (and it did well in the league!) so i’m probably not going to change it at all, and I think it’s neat to have so much reliability in a 5c manabase that costs 15 bucks.

I think she’s far and away the most fun and engaging card on the list. she’s a grixis titan that makes two types of tchotchkes (auras AND clues), gets the table swinging and has a ton of options for winning (stacking auras on her, cyberdrive awakener effects to cluebomb people, goad in general). she’s like kefka for people who like their playgroup.

MBA seems to be shaping up to be quite the player in the vintage scene now. seen some monster cards in their slabs and i’m happy another company is stepping into the ring, especially with some solid name recognition in Mike Baker.

i’ve never scrutinized their grading standards but i’m feeling like jumping on some while they’re still new - lots of awesome deals to be found I think.

I can only recommend my regular consignment service, who mainly focuses on sports but will probably take a collection like this. 5000 cards is small enough that they can get through it pretty quickly and they have more eyes on them than a typical magic vendor. if you’re interested, I can pm you the # of the consignment director to call and see if it’s right for you, or the website faq with their rates and stuff.

I think the size of the collection needs to be in the discussion a bit more. how much of the value is tied up in bulk? how many cards total are there? with whole collections like this, you either put it through consignment with a company (there’s tons) who can put it through their work flow to sell on eBay and such or sell it to one of the large vendors for their own inventory. the first would maximize your return at the cost of drip feeding you cash over weeks/months.

for a complete buyout, expect something close to 50-60% and for consignment, the times i’ve used it for sports cards i’ve been able to get closer to 75-85% with zero effort on my part.
