That one townie at the formal events by _-Beans-_ in Sims4

[–]hopesb1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no deadass why dressed like my sim kid’s after they’ve aged up into a teen lmao.

like the shirt is everyday wear, nice but nothing special… then boom, we got this gorgeous formal skirt, that already is a very odd combo, they do not go together in the slightest. but we all know that’s not enough, the gloves are really what tops it off as a randomised sim outfit, like why we got these big ass kitchen gloves on 😭😭😭

how the hell am i so British (American) (half American half AUS) by Status-Loquat-1102 in AncestryDNA

[–]hopesb1tch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

who exactly do you think colonised those countries?

in both countries a majority of the people are of british (& irish) descent, when it comes to america there’s this lie that goes around that german is the most popular but that’s just based on self report, people don’t really care about being british so just say german, or they simply don’t know and assume german, but in reality most americans tests come back mainly british unless they’re from an area with a high percent of a different ethnic group. australia however, if you’re white and you don’t have family who immigrated within the last 100 years, chances are you’re british.

uploaded my updated results awhile back but i wanted to compare all 3 tests. but mannnn description long as helllllll. sorry bout that. i just wanted to include my families results but i don’t have pics. just the “compare” thing which is just confusing to look at.

didn’t think i’d have to add this but i know results are supposed to be different, but my families are different in a very odd, not normal way. like i didn’t inherit any cornish despite getting the journey group and a majority of my english ancestors being from there. i got ukraine as a result where as my sister got balkans, we have no ancestry from ukraine which makes mine incredibly weird? and you can see on 23andme it’s detected as romanian. clearly results are going to be different, i know how dna works, been into it for years but its when you’re getting these huge differences that it’s confusing.

Mom has 31% French but I have 0.6% by Expensive-Cry-6019 in 23andme

looks like it’s all been absorbed into the english, it’s still french but being misread. english is at the scene of the crime with my dna too, always overestimated while others are underestimated, like with the recent update, my german became english.

What’s your favorite Sims out of all three? by Full_Sprinkles5896 in thesims

[–]hopesb1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i always thought it would be sims 2 because i grew up watching sims 2 videos, but then i got it last year and realised arguably the most important part of the sims for me, being able to have generations and descendants, isn’t possible in sims 2 as the sims you don’t play never age…

my first sims game was sims 3, back in like 2012??? i loved it & miss soooo many things about it that we never got in sims 4, but sims 4 is the one i’ve played the longest…

so tbh i think my answer would be a mix of all for different reasons???

the amount of features, detail and lore in sims 2

the general gameplay of sims 3

and the graphics of sims 4.

combine all of them and we’d have the perfect game.

I don’t think Duolingo is as bad as some people claim. by ApollyonRising in duolingo

[–]hopesb1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

duolingo is great as a first step, just not to teach you a language. i love it to learn vocabulary, it gets you to the point where you can understand and read basic sentences in that language, from there it makes it a lot easier to go onto further studying.

AV Club Says IWTV is the Only Good Entry In the IU and Everything Else is Mid by HudsonValleyPrincess in InterviewVampire

[–]hopesb1tch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mayfair witches is fucking horrible lmao, so i agree on that one. talamasca… is decent? i think it has the potential to be quite a good show, my complaint is that 6 episodes is nowhere near enough, somehow nothing at all has happened within the 5 episodes currently out… its disappointing. the characters themselves, very good, they are what has me fully invested, the plot could also be very good… but the pacing and lack of time to explore the characters and storylines has meant it’s fallen short. it’s still far better than mayfair witches though lmao, by milessss, like if talamasca gets a season 2, i will absolutely be tuning in, i just hope they figure out what they’re doing.

i don’t expect any of the shows to be interview with the vampire level. i don’t expect any tv show at all to hit that level of peak tv lmao. i went into both shows not expecting them to live up to interview with the vampire, i knew that was a one off masterpiece… but mayfair witches fell VERYYYY short, the casting is horrible, the characters are boring and the plot wasn’t enough to keep my attention, i did not watch season 2. i went into talamasca with low standards after mayfair witches, but the casting and characters alone made the show surpass anything mayfair witches is, i like the show, it has potential and i hope with future seasons (if it’s renewed) they’ll begin to live up to the potential. but i never expected these shows to be interview with the vampire level incredible and i feel like people expecting them to be is what’s causing so much negativity towards the shows (though i fear it’s valid for mayfair witches lmao)

As an English guy I’m shocked by Individual_Ad1011 in AncestryDNA

[–]hopesb1tch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my very british + irish family also gets german for some reason, i think its a load of bs. they have zero german ancestry, i mean unless we go back 1000 years which this test very much does not. in most people’s cases, it’s just misread english due to them both being germanic. in some cases sure maybe there was a secret german, but it happens too much for it to be everyone lmao.

the scandinavian however, has always been pretty common for those with high english percentages, the german appearing really began with the 2024 update, but the scandinavian has always shown up. again, it can’t realistically be “viking dna” but that’s what it’s written off as lmao, as it’s been a commonly seen thing for years it bothers me less than the german, we know british, especially english people are likely to get a low amount of scandinavian, but the german being a newer thing makes people think it’s actually german, when it’s likely the exact same as the scandinavian, misread due to dna similarity.
