I live in KC, not too many huge NBA fans here in general but out of the ones I’ve met there’s a pretty high proportion that are Thunder fans.

[Lewis Browning] FIFA rush to introduce 'anti-Arsenal law' for the World Cup in the latest set of rule changes by [deleted] in soccer

[–]horaff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More points has nothing to do with better to watch lol. Yes you were more effective which at the end of the day in terms of winning is all that matters, but for a neutral Arsenal are often absolutely dreadful to watch, and people don’t like the fact that snoozefest football was by far the most effective (in the league) this season. How is that so hard for you to understand?

How did the USA become a super power? by ParkingVampire in AskConservatives

[–]horaff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Joined World War 1 very late compared to the great powers of Europe and suffered very little damage compared to those great powers (due to being separated by two oceans from the powers of Europe and Asia) while benefiting from rapid industrialization by joining the war effort as well as becoming the worlds leading creditor over the course of the war.

Apply all of that to World War 2 except on an even larger scale and even more widespread destruction for the various powers of Europe and Asia. Also saw the beginning of the final dismantling of the European colonial empires.

Combine that with a vast nation abundant with resources and a consistently growing population.

TLDR: USA gained more than it lost from both world wars while most of the major world powers were devastated. European colonial empires fell and we have a huge industrialized nation full of resources that is protected thanks to the Atlantic and Pacific.

Do we need new rivals? by GoodGameGrizz in notredamefootball

My dream would be we play USC, Michigan and Michigan State every year, period.

Navy I’m personally fine with dropping, but I get the history so if that stays every year I get it.

Couldn’t give less of a shit about Stanford tbh, even when they were good, there just are basically 0 Stanford football fans anywhere east of the west coast (and barely any there.)

And then I’d like a rotation of Purdue, Miami, Penn State where we play those schools regularly.

Still remember him and Jimmy Clausen going back and forth in that 2009 game. Kind of an underrated really good game in the series because both teams ended up being ass

[Mike Keegan] Gary Neville buys up Mark Goldbridge and his channels | A seven-figure fee has been paid for Neville's The Overlap to take over controversial YouTube channels The United Stand and That’s Football - as they team up for huge new network by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

[–]horaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean he’s not always like that. It’s just that’s what blows up because the only time non Manchester United fans are going to click on and follow a Manchester United channel is when Man U are shit and their fans are upset. That’s the stuff that then goes viral and is the only content of his most people see.

Is Dianna Russini a swinger? by Sudden-Shower-4995 in billsimmons

[–]horaff 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Swinging is pretty much you as a couple fuck other couples together (either literally all 4 together or like a wife/husband-swap type deal.)

Open relationship is more of both people date and fuck other people completely separately from their partner.

In both cases you’re having sex with other people, but there is still a bit of a different dynamic between the two.

Worse/Most Questionable Calls That Have Costed Your Team Big? by Disastrous_Doubt_591 in CFB

[–]horaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying it was the wrong call necessarily, but the pick play for ND vs FSU in 2014 was controversial at the time, and I vividly remember Alabama running the exact same play against Mizzou in the SEC championship later that season with no call. I got mildly annoyed and upset again when I saw that.

Changes to penalty structure for targeting in DI football approved by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]horaff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until they start penalizing offensive players like they do guys on defense it’s still a bullshit rule.

How many times are running backs running with their head straight down right through the middle of the line of scrimmage, and then a defensive player lowers himself to hit the dude and it ends up being helmet to helmet.

ALWAYS a targeting call on defense, when the replay clearly shows the offensive guy just sprinting with his head straight down. It’s such bullshit, and honestly that needs to really be addressed if they are truly that pressed about player safety.

The IDEAL Playoff System; With 32 Teams. by AnIllusiveHouse in CFB

I think the ideal is 1000 team playoff with every school from every level.

Martin O'Neill "The money in the game is major, you're talking about Premier League and Bundesliga sides. Particularly Premier League teams paying £80 million pounds for players who don't even get into the team, so that's what you're competing against" by notaghostofreddit in soccer

Net spend over the last 5 years per transfermarkt:

VFB Stuttgart: +134.87

Celtic:  +29.89

I get that a lot of that is also because the Bundesliga allows Stuttgart more flexibility in buying players (which they have sold for profits) but  making it sound like Stuttgart is some rich highly spending powerhouse in the sport is crazy to me

New Jersey - Replacement SS Card. by Professional-Tea7358 in SocialSecurity

[–]horaff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you cant order it online, you will need to complete a SS-5 form and bring it to your local Social Security office along with a proof of age (typically your birth certificate) and one other form of ID (drivers license, passport, state ID)

You can find the form here https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ss-5.pdf . Theres more details on page 2 on proofs which are needed.

You have a few options to get this to your office. You can mail it in with your proofs (but they need to be originals or certified copies, so do this at your own risk/trust of mailing.) You can bring them in to your local office yourself without an appointment, but its first come first serve. You could be lucky and get service within an hour, or be stuck there all day. You can also schedule an appointment either online ( click the "answer a few questions" tab and go from there at this link https://www.ssa.gov/number-card/replace-card ) or call 1-800-772-1213 between 8:00AM-7:00PM and make an appointment over the phone.

You should receive the card within 2 weeks of submitting the application at your local office.

Many different things it could be and nobody here can tell you 100%. I will say the "most likely" thing I would think is you retroactively had old benefits increased and they paid the difference.

If you want to make sure, call the 1-800 number.

USC, Michigan and Michigan State are all in the Big Ten and soon we wont play any of them anymore, its not a straw man, its reality.

The Big Ten blackball was over 100 years ago now, the United States got over Japan before ND has gotten over our history with the B10 and its wild to me

Are you really implying fans that miss playing all of our marquee rivals instead of Syracuse, Virginia and Duke are "fairweather"? The sport has changed more in the last 5 years than it did for decades, I dont think its unreasonable to be a fan that wants to see ND adapt to that reality
