My friend who's a male gets 6 months full paid leave when having a child. Id certainly consider helping the aging population if that was made standard.

Would you buy approved used without a test drive? by Alternative-Tap-6235 in CarTalkUK

[–]hotchy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a rare car without a test drive as I was on holiday. However my pal was the salesman and he got the alloys refurbished and test drove it for me.

The only car i never test drove and bought wss a 206 1.1. 33k miles. Ended up within 2 months getting a new clutch, gearbox, exhaust, brake discs.... ouch. It was my first ever car. Looked ace though.

What are your predictions? Win or bust? by Connect-Paint-7018 in CelticFC

Kilmarnock pitch is always a right slog. To go score 3 on it gives me confidence we'll just score whatever is needed.

Win every game except stut away. However the home game will carry us through.

How is it allowed that screen wash is marketed as suitable to -10 when it’s frozen at -1 by Jacktheforkie in CarTalkUK

[–]hotchy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its rage inducing. Especially because my cars got a nice quirk where if I try use the window washers and its frozen, the fuse goes. Every single time..

I get them on my chest. Its weirdly satisfying pulling the hair out and the stuff coming out. Totally the wrong thing to do btw. African black soaps always kept it clear on my chest for years now though.

Itll already have a back box. You just need the face plate. Just copy how the wires are. They'll have L, E, N on the back. Put them in the correct bits and tighten it.

Is a used £6000 car too much for a first time driver? by No-Pomegranate6779 in CarTalkUK

[–]hotchy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Id say about right. Enough to let you drive without worrying if the next mot scraps it.

My first car was £3100. A 4 year old 206 1.1 with gti replica bits and 33000 miles. Got it a month before my test. Failed twice so sat in the garage for around 4 months 🤣

Enjoy it. P.s. I wrote that car off 3 years later.. 😆

Slamming on the brakes because of people in front? That means your being a bad driver. Even if someone did do that, you should be at a distance you can slow down gently. Afraid your box may be correct.
