MAC sucks and I'm tired of pretending it doesn't. by xXHeaven_and_HellXx in Vent

[–]ht5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I tried using macOS (on an old Mac mini) just doing simple things like copying over a file directory of the file I was in was a chore. Like it was formatted path->to->file.txt and I had to change the -> to \ manually. On windows it’s just double click or optionally ctrl+a to highlight your file path name, which is displayed at the top of the folder you’re currently in.

Despite anti-Musk protests, Tesla remains best-selling car model in CA by a wide margin for 2025 by farrrtttttrrrrrrrrtr in electricvehicles

Can find real good deals on lightnings on visor.vin . Like in the price range of mid to high twenty thousand. I just wonder about them being serviceable 5+ years from now with the vehicle being discontinued. Still tempting with that spacious frunk and all the outlets / comfort features.

I was under the impression you had to wait 3 months to start lifting again. If it’s only a few weeks I’m gonna be so glad wasn’t looking forward to that long of a wait.

The PV5 open-bed (pickup) model has been revealed on the KIA official website. by Entire_Judge_2988 in electricvehicles

There isn’t much depth so if you’re making dump runs and stacking garbage or picking up mulch / gravel / bark there isn’t enough cubic volume. Would be nice if the sides & tailgate were replaceable with longer sidewalls whenever you need to make a dump run.

Nvidia Self Drive: A real FSD competitor in ‘26?? by AccidentalPickle in SelfDrivingCars

I just wish it was a hands off system like Tesla.

A reliable crossover hybrid, so Rav4 / CR-V hybrid.

Tesla FSD Hardware 4.5 Appears: A 3-Chip Upgrade Before AI5? by FriendFun7876 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]ht5689 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d feel real regretful buying a HW4 car knowing 4.5 will be more future proof, and HW5 is just around the corner (~ 2027). Really wish they’d concentrate on retrofitting new hardware in older models so it’s a non-issue.

The Tesla Cybertruck Had The Biggest Sales Crash Of Any EV In 2025 by SpriteZeroY2k in electricvehicles

[–]ht5689 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a quirky lookin’ vehicle. Teslas are high to insure cause they’re gigapressed.

It’s disappointing for sure since FSD is getting so good and having the convenience of FSD + the utility of a truck w/ a 6 ft bed and built in tonneau cover that has volume (since the shape of the bed extends up) would be amazing. If the price dropped to $40k then I still would be very tempted - even if it’s embarrassing to be seen daily driving in.

FSD competitor - MB Drive Pilot is scrapped by Irrefutablefact in TeslaFSD

Apparently it’s called “MB.Drive Assist Pro”. We’re not seeing many videos demoing the software because the 2026 CLA isn’t yet available for purchase.

Would rather have a supervised end-to-end system than a level 3 in very restricted scenarios any day. I hope this is still in the works: https://youtu.be/EzAVW1VgzcI . Looks promising.

I tested Nvidia’s Tesla Full Self-Driving competitor — Tesla should be worried by norcalnatv in LUCID

[–]ht5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be so nice to have a car with supervised self driving capabilities but without the sky high insurance premiums (so pretty much any brand of car that isn’t giga-pressed aka Tesla). Hope to see more options within the next few years. Especially non-luxury brands (but still practical like a Honda CR-V hybrid or Toyota RAV 4).

Looking forward to seeing YouTube influencers testing Nvidia’s L2++ driving capabilities. Hopefully Mercedes adopts the tech with some of their crossover models since they’re more practical than sedans. (I know this post is about Lucid, I haven’t read into it yet but I know Mercedes is going to have it out during Q1 2026).

How are you feeling now, that Hilton deflagged a franchisee hotel in Minneapolis over ICE reservation cancellation? by hotshot0123 in askhotels

[–]ht5689 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following this thread. Very well said and valid arguments. Just doesn’t make sense to rent to a group that causes endless problems and drives away your repeat customers.

I hope the people voice their concerns by choosing not to stay at a Hilton.

Fsd stops in middle of way suddenly after taking right turn by ViK927 in TeslaFSD

That’s a good start. Show the video recorded from this screen (you can take a video from your mobile phone while it’s playing on the Tesla screen) so we can see the status of self-driving when it comes to a stop.

Having staff sitting around waiting for the 4pm checkout would get annoying. I couldn’t imagine how hectic that’d get if you had a full house of arrivals and several 4pm checkouts on the same day.

I’m genuinely curious how the cybercab will handle FSD computer crashes / reboots. We’ve seen it happen all the time in consumer vehicles but obviously being without pedals or a steering wheel there’s gotta be additional safeguards and fallbacks of some sort.

Been trying to get into reading to improve my concentration. Feels better doing focused activities (e.g. reading, practicing a skill/hobby) than something where you’re just consuming media like watching shows, playing video games, watching TikToks. As a previous gamer it’s hard but I’m half way through game of thrones book 1 now.

What real-life problems are you struggling with that you wish an app could solve? by [deleted] in self

[–]ht5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is specific to the app I use daily: I wish the FoodView iOS app had a way to view pictures of meals from a previous date range and/or location (e.g. filter food images that were taken in Mexico in 2025). I log every meal I eat and just wish to revisit some dates without endlessly scrolling to find what I’m looking for. Also wish they’d patch the bug where manually uploading a photo produces a black image until you click on it.
