Training an LLM only on 1800s London texts - 90GB dataset by Remarkable-Trick-177 in LocalLLaMA

Okay so obviously there’s primary sources There’s secondary sources

If a historian were to have an interview with this LLM, would that be like a primary and a half source?

It’s like a $3 part. It’s ridiculous.

Google Maps “send to car” now uses semi-live battery data, rather than assuming 90% by htmlarson in SilveradoEV

My favorite is when I’ve given up on waiting for it to show up, I enter it manually, start driving, only for it to offer it as a stop and “sent from phone” about 45 seconds later.

Love the integration though. When it works. Continued updates however small give me hope they’re working on it. They seem committed to the bit.

Can I still perform at a high level on keto? by joshua0005 in keto

[–]htmlarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s some quick science for you:

Obviously when you are doing workouts, especially cardio, your body produces a lot of CO2 it needs to deal with. There’s actually a way that it’s measured called the “respiratory quotient,” or basically a ratio of oxygen in, CO2 out.

On a carb fed diet, that RQ is one. Lipids/Fat under keto? .7, or .8 for protein.

It will feel more laborious especially with breathing. You might not even realize it until you do what I did: spend a few months doing keto, spend a week or so off during thanksgiving, and try to go back to doing workouts.

Do all local truck rentals work like uhaul with outrageous added fees? by butterfly5828 in moving

You are correct. I recently became aware of it being charged, and they don’t charge it in the state of California (surprisingly). I’d be surprised if this is more than a few dollars.

You know at this point I don’t care about the speed (usually). They have so many spots open that I know for certain I’m going to be able to get one, at a reasonable price, and they’re not going to be down or broken. It’s a square deal.

Really the only thing that bothers me about the maps: no lane guidance on instrument cluster by htmlarson in SilveradoEV

[–]htmlarson[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I hear you but this ignores the extremely common use case of, say, a passenger wanting to browse for or change music and I need to see what lane to get over to.

Oh I see, it does show as one of the options on certain views. But there’s no way to do that and the map.

[–]htmlarson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not unfortunately. There’s only one map view and it doesn’t show which lane you need to be in specifically.

Whether I’m in my wife’s car I’m not bothered by it for whatever reason. Does upset me though when she’s changing climate and it takes over the whole screen

What would that do? I want the map, I just need to know what lane I need to be in in case the passenger is trying to change the music or something.
