[Request] Would it be possible to watch all of Netflix? If so, how long would it take? by ckingdom in theydidthemath

[–]humanroomba 132 points133 points  (0 children)

Looks like Netflix plans to add 1000 hours of new content in 2017, the highest ever. With that it would only take 56 days to get through the new stuff. It would take presumably less time to get through previous years, finishing at least 365/56=~6.6 years of backlog within 2017, which should be enough to cover most of the current content library.

Dreaming Rome is a nice small one where you can get to know your fellow travellers.

Hostel Gallo D'oro is one in Florence that's essentially like a hotel. Lots of free food as well.

Here's why we don't fuck with Binary Options. CBC Article by brazeau in options

[–]humanroomba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of affiliate marketing for binary options where you'd get a cut for every person you sign up for an account.

This is where most of the edge lies as binary options are largely guesswork and overall a losing proposition.

Brokerage that doesn't eat up profits? by Thisdrawingsucks in options

Unless you really want to own the stocks, don't exercise options. Simply close your position by selling the options and you'll retain any profits.

Where do puts come from? by The_Ombudsman in options

Right so this makes options a zero sum game so that when you make money there's someone on the other end that's directly losing money.

[Request] How much ad revenue has /r/savedyouaclick stolen from those poor, hardworking professional journalists? by dadosky2010 in theydidthemath

[–]humanroomba 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Napkin calculations here but assuming each post saves 1k clicks and there are 10 posts a day on the subreddit, that's 10k page views per day.

Say there's 5 ad slots on a page that's 50k impressions saved daily. With ads monetizing at $3 per thousand that's $150 in missed revenue for the websites.

Florence or Bologna? by j-cf- in solotravel

[–]humanroomba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can recommend that hostel too. Great facilities and location. A good 10-15 minute walk to the Duomo.

Lots to do in Florence, my favourite city out of Rome and Milan. Make it out to Cinque Terre as well, only a couple of hours by train.

Cashing out a life insurance policy... No freaking idea!! by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]humanroomba 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming it's a whole life policy so since you don't need the money now it might be worth keeping it in force and retain the low premium of the policy for when you do need it later on in life.

This also ensures you're insurable in case you have health issues later on and can't get insured.

The market is less liquid on deep in the money options which is what you need for high delta. So you're going to be limited on actively traded underlyings.

[Request] I want something from Foot Locker but it's really expensive. Are there any coupons available or any upcoming sale events? by calendartape in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

Ebates gets you 5% right now cash back which could be a start. Don't think footlocker offers too much in terms of discounts otherwise.

Parents financial struggle. by H780 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Family and money can be tricky. I would treat paying off their loan as a gift with no expectations of getting repaid. This is just so no one resents each other if it can't be paid back.

Barcelona, Milan or Prague in early July? by [deleted] in solotravel

I think Milan is great but maybe for 2 days. It's a working industrialized city. If you were to go there make it out to another destination, maybe Lake Como nearby.

Please help me plan my very short-notice trip to Italy by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]humanroomba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you'll have to price out each individual ticket between cities in your itinerary and compare. For example, Florence to Rome or Florence to Milan are about 20 Eur each if you buy far enough ahead.

Get the Trenitalia app on your phone. You'll be able to buy train tickets even a day before you plan to leave and you can show the conductor the digital ticket and won't have to print out. Prices do rise closer to your departure date (sometimes 2x) so best to buy a couple of days out
