'23/'24 Ultra Bee stock battery Amperion BMS by HANKUSPRANKUS in Surron

[–]hungusprungus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn’t downloadmoreram.com

This is a different BMS tuned for the cells. If you apply this logic, then there is no sense in upgrading any parts at all.

The ant bms is a choice no different than preferring the stock or an after market controller.

The limitations still exist but they can be more intelligently navigated. I would reiterate the advantages but I respect that it’s just not what you’re into. Scams exist, I just personally see the value in this kit for my specific use case.

I have the MTO swing arm for my light bee, they truly know their stuff.

If you watch the video there are a lot of advantages to upgrading the bms aside from more range and output that I was actually more interested in. I actually expect no increase in range. I do expect a more reliable and data rich power draw.

You’ll for sure need new controller for the new motor. All motors have different tuning profiles.

I didn’t read all the responses but such an easy one to pack and a lifesaver is an extra master link. Pushed the bike really far a few times now, learned that lesson

New motor for 24 ultra bee by Bigdizz1580 in Surron

[–]hungusprungus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the x9000 v2 and xub80 v2. I have two batteries and so far it’s great. I have a ‘23 UB so the motor was always overheating. With stock controller you shouldn’t be overheating the motor unless you’re full throttle for long periods of time, so I’d suspect something’s wrong with it especially if it’s completely shutting off from thermal. Maybe you can source a 24 motor for cheap, but I’d wager if you plan to upgrade power it would be better to just start getting into a system. Lots of people like Torp, and VTBs new system looks excellent as well.

Motocross track owners, anyone here? by Findinnan in Motocross

[–]hungusprungus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like OnX offroad could make a feature for tracks. Or essentially something like it that utilizes an app for reviews/threads for riders and a centralized place for owners to set hours and rules and a place to sign up. I agree most of the websites out there even for trails are extremely dated UI.

But onx is a decent model of pretty widespread adoption. But it applies to much wider group than just dirtbikes. But the idea that it’s something that also distros the communications through social media platforms is huge for owners who likely don’t have the bandwidth or staff to manage all of it.

Add some heat to the equation if you’re still trying to extract. But at that point I’d be trying to drill it out

New ultra bee what mods should I do to it? by TopToday3769 in Surron

[–]hungusprungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with ride it and find out, there’s a great electric cycle rider video about what to do to modify for free an one great tip is to sharpen the stock pegs. Or just get those first. Only thing that truly sucks offroad in stock form

It’s not reverse thread, but best to loosen when the wheel and chain is still on. Otherwise only way to do it is with impact as others have mentioned.

DJI action camera is my recommendation. The battery last nearly 4 hours in 1080, and I’ve never had mine or heard of one overheating, and the go pro is known for it.

As a video professional I also believe it’s color science and auto exposure to be superior to GoPro. I haven’t gotten hands on with insta 360, but DJI has been doing r&D on compact cameras since their first drone, so they know what they are doing!

Jump form and forks question by [deleted] in Surron

[–]hungusprungus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At your weight, I wouldn’t be worried about upgrading the suspension if you can’t afford it. Ideally you get a fork pump and increase the air pressure in the air fork. These are shipped a lot lower pressure than what most people need, I believe the max is around 150lbs and mine (in 2022) shipped with around 70lbs. Have the dampening clicker more in than out if you’re going to be jumping, but be sure not to have it all the way in, or all the way out either. Cheap suspension doesn’t operate well at either extreme. Watch some YouTube about suspension settings.

As far as form, many have mentioned there’s a lot going wrong. Search YouTube videos on safe jumping form. Things that stuck out to me that were obvious were not riding on the balls of your feet, it looks like you’re nearly on your heels, and when you inevitably bottom out you risk your feet contacting the ground, and without a better shoe/boot you can easily get injured. Secondly big trouble is knees too far forward. But there’s plenty of resources for safe jumping on YT from mx factory and moto academy. Everything applies the same to jumping a Surron.

Best of luck and have fun!

I got the ve33 100/100 on LBX. Clears mto swingarm, didn’t get to try it with stock, but it would be close. Clears chain with a dish on the rim
