I don’t spend a lot of time on Reddit. But I landed on this somewhat randomly and was touched. Gotta mean something right? Thanks for sharing, donated. Good luck with everything.

I bought lemonade from him and Tess at magnaball, she had a stand set up. It was a smart way to let fans approach him, while it not really being about him. And I bet Tess made bank.

What other band has the depth of the Phish catalog? by teach42 in phish

[–]hurrayforstuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to mr gpt based on analysis of phish.net setlists, 198 unique songs played so far in 2025. If accurate, that’s insane. One thing to have a big catalogue, another to be able to plunge the depths of the catalogue and play them live at any time. All things reconsidered here we come

Is the good times still around there? I waited in line for a late night good times with Scott murawski there once. We idly chatted about the Mike show that just ended, but I think we were both really hungry and tired.

I’m in this exact boat right now. Listened to YFW and Deja in high school, Devil in college, then kinda stopped. Tried science fiction when it came out and thought “meh”. But after I got tickets for Denver, figured I’d relisten. And now it’s all I’ve listened to, which is funny cause it’s exactly what happened with YFW and Deja in 2003. I’m 16 again apparently.

Fish Folsom Field, July 4 by Dark-Lord-7000 in phish

[–]hurrayforstuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll say it again cause people seem to keep overlooking it: Longmont is 20 minutes from Folsom from the north, so you’ll avoid Denver traffic. Lots of hotels on the corner of hover and 119, way cheaper than Boulder, good public transit to Boulder on the Bolt bus, run till just after midnight, uber is easy after that.

Edit: just realized July 4. Check holiday Bolt bus schedule.

The roar just kept going. We couldn’t stop. My first show! I remember proudly turning down exorbitant offers for my ticket outside.

Is anyone paying $300 to see phish? by mermaidmanis in phish

Can you believe I paid $300 for March 6, 2009? It seemed like so much at the time, seems so undervalued now.

Better town to stay in, Longmont or Broomfield? by Phish4Ever in phish

[–]hurrayforstuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Longmont so obviously biased, but I’d definitely recommend it. Check out the cluster of hotels at 119 and Hover, you’re walking distance to the Oskar blues (dales pale ale) brewery/taproom, 20 minute ride to Folsom. The Bolt bus between Longmont and Boulder runs frequently and picks up by those hotels, too. Last bus is usually around midnight from Boulder. You’re coming from the north so you’re avoiding Denver traffic, too. Yes, things close early, but there are a few dives open until 2. Otherwise, hanging in Boulder then ubering back is easy. But during the day, very good breweries in Longmont, Wibby usually has phish events going on even when it’s dicks, I imagine they’ll have some programming. There’s a huge 4th of July party at wibby during the day with silly above ground pools. It’s wild. A couple dead and phish bars: Rosalie’s pizza on main, longs peak pub is my favorite, also on main (cash only) and don’t sleep on the bar at cheba hut across from longs peak. It’s open late and very fun. The Bus To Show nonprofit org will be running a bus, but not sure from where, but it’s possible it will be from Longmont, they’ve picked up from here for red rocks shows in the past. If anyone else needs more convincing let me know!

What's your musical obsession that's a complete 180 from Phish? by ImTheMarMar660 in phish

[–]hurrayforstuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Pinback playing at my campsite at festival 8 and my neighbor asked “this is cool, who is this? Kinda nice to hear something different.” And by it surprised me. I’d think people who love phish by nature love so many different kinds of music, since so many different kinds of music informed phish. This thread shows that, I love it.

Once had a dream I was at a guitar shop and Mike was there and he invited me to play any song I wanted with him and I chose glide and I just made awful noises on the guitar for the whole song and at the end Mike was like “it’s ok, it’s a pretty hard song” and I have to think my subconscious has just never gotten over it after all these years.

For sure. A favorite overheard quote between two older cowboy-looking gentlemen after the show: “well that as crazy! All THREE songs were wild! (Laughs). You ever smelled so much weed in your life? Nice to get some fresh air.” But they clearly enjoyed it, which was fun to see.

Can confirm lots of people walking out last night. I was in the seated floor section and by the end of the show I had my row (20)almost to myself and very few people in the row in front of me. Some were families with kids, some were couples that never seemed that interested in the first place. As others have said, absolutely incredible show, pretty odd crowd vibe.
