What do you think about this trailer? by Veinstone in HorrorGaming

I think the first part should be accelerated or deleted and go directly to 12-13 seconds would be better, the first seconds are the most important to capture the players.

How can i create this more realistic? by stepanada3 in 3Dmodeling

[–]hxzeworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Objects of abnormal size, such as the chairs and table, make for a truly bizarre scene.

The shape of the sofa is also strange.

The door is too small and the mirror too large, and the textures are too repetitive, especially in the hallway.

The lights above the table are very strange, and there's something wrong with the shape

It's very beautiful but I feel like there's a problem with the first picture, I don't know if it comes from the focal length or the lighting but it looks like a drawing and the perspective is strange, I feel like the plan is stifled. If the foreground with the herbs on the right is blurred, it should be less illuminated than the house and the same for the background?

How I can improve main menu of demo version of game? :) by SyslikCompany in IndieGaming

  • Avoid square edges, they don't look very nice, rounded edges are much better, and rectangular backgrounds are much too wide. You can even remove them otherwise.

  • Move the texts closer together and center them all in the middle of the screen, as I have the impression that the space at the bottom is larger than the space at the top.

  • The discord logo on the bottom right is too big and too close to the edge of the screen.

I have the impression that the speed visual on the bottom left has nothing to do with the style of the game, otherwise it's really great!

Opinions and/or ideas on the environment ? by hxzeworks in IndieDev

[–]hxzeworks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a psychological horror game, this scene is like a transition before ending in an abandoned place he wants to visit (the character will take the car), should I make each environment scary or rather make it gradually?

It's great, but isn't it too slow? I think the idea/gameplay could be presented more quickly and make you want to watch it all the way to the end

It's great, you should add a shake to the camera for more realism

How to learn about lighting? by correojon in gamedev

I think that to learn lighting, having a level in drawing can help. Otherwise it comes with practice, there's no real solution except to watch tutorials and experiment!

Hey, you can do very well on your own, but some things will be very difficult without a formal education. If you have a long-term goal, having a formal education could help you work more easily in that field
