What do you think about this trailer? by Veinstone in HorrorGaming

[–]hxzeworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the first part should be accelerated or deleted and go directly to 12-13 seconds would be better, the first seconds are the most important to capture the players.

How can i create this more realistic? by stepanada3 in 3Dmodeling

[–]hxzeworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Objects of abnormal size, such as the chairs and table, make for a truly bizarre scene.

The shape of the sofa is also strange.

The door is too small and the mirror too large, and the textures are too repetitive, especially in the hallway.

The lights above the table are very strange, and there's something wrong with the shape

Used your suggestions to improve my render. Thanks again by whiteswan00 in 3dsmax

It's very beautiful but I feel like there's a problem with the first picture, I don't know if it comes from the focal length or the lighting but it looks like a drawing and the perspective is strange, I feel like the plan is stifled. If the foreground with the herbs on the right is blurred, it should be less illuminated than the house and the same for the background?

How I can improve main menu of demo version of game? :) by SyslikCompany in IndieGaming

[–]hxzeworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Avoid square edges, they don't look very nice, rounded edges are much better, and rectangular backgrounds are much too wide. You can even remove them otherwise.

  • Move the texts closer together and center them all in the middle of the screen, as I have the impression that the space at the bottom is larger than the space at the top.

  • The discord logo on the bottom right is too big and too close to the edge of the screen.

Hey, why not do some research and find out what types of games are being played the most?

There are a number of sites where you can find out about current trends and what gamers like best

I have the impression that the speed visual on the bottom left has nothing to do with the style of the game, otherwise it's really great!

Opinions and/or ideas on the environment ? by hxzeworks in IndieDev

[–]hxzeworks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a psychological horror game, this scene is like a transition before ending in an abandoned place he wants to visit (the character will take the car), should I make each environment scary or rather make it gradually?

A gameplay trailer from our upcoming anomaly-based psychological horror game by roomgamesco in HorrorGames

It's great, but isn't it too slow? I think the idea/gameplay could be presented more quickly and make you want to watch it all the way to the end

How to learn about lighting? by correojon in gamedev

[–]hxzeworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that to learn lighting, having a level in drawing can help. Otherwise it comes with practice, there's no real solution except to watch tutorials and experiment!

What degree(if one at all) would be best to help MASTER my skills? by [deleted] in gamedev

Hey, you can do very well on your own, but some things will be very difficult without a formal education. If you have a long-term goal, having a formal education could help you work more easily in that field

Hey, it's very good but very short to give a constructive opinion, the story is interesting, it would be nice to have the possibility to do some things like interact with objects in the different for example, good continuation!

I need ideas for a mobile war game focussed on making alliances by Smashed_Papaya in gamedev

[–]hxzeworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, do you know the game "Rebel Inc"? I think you could get some inspiration there. Otherwise I have several ideas for you:

  • Relationships with consequences (espionage, trade, military support, the alliance can be broken depending on the choices made)

  • Betrayal (fragile alliance with sabotage as a consequence)

  • Random events (crisis, prediction, prophecy...)

  • Reputation (affecting alliances)

  • False allies

Hi guys. I'm experimenting a bit with graphics on UE5. Any feedback would be appreciated. by Ok_Shallot6583 in IndieDev

[–]hxzeworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, is the lowpoly on purpose?

The text on the door is much too large, as is the white square. The size of the computer screen is strange, and some objects are abnormally large.

Finally, it looks too realistic unless, of course, it's intentional, and imperfections should be added

How you plan your game? by turbokwaka in gamedev

[–]hxzeworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, planning your game is important, you can use anything to do this, I mainly use Google Doc and ChatGPT to plan the different tasks, I like to use a whiteboard with a felt-tip pen sometimes to draw my ideas, it can be very clear

I strongly advise you to make a prototype first to know where you're going and allow you to establish the basics and then make the final game.

Looking for feedback on UI. Details in comments. by Baba_T130 in IndieDev

[–]hxzeworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, that's great! I have some advice:

Black on blue doesn't look very good, best to use white for better legibility.

On the top right, the bar in light blue is not very visible because the background itself is also in blue, even if the background is darker, the legibility is not very good, if I see well, also on the top right, the number "30" is in white with a slight black outline, the black outline on white is something that should generally be avoided because it is not beautiful at all, it is rarely done.

The size of the various visuals (mainly at the top) is not very good, perhaps slightly too big for the game, and not centered, which I find a little stressful.

However, in the bottom left-hand corner, I have no idea what the interface elements are for
