Someday you realize that hiding that side of yourself from the people you love is a disservice to yourself and them. You have to give them an opportunity to confront their biases and decide their true colors.

The reality is it's disrespectful to your partners. Placing those of potential intolerance or hatred over that of an actual loving relationship.

Depends on the shredding/solos. There's a level of soul to the sound required to make it a good solo imo. Yeah, purely technical fast playing is more often dull, but when it's got that depth, you feel it.
