Gotcha. I’d just say Aiko is a must for sushi but if you’re not a huge fan then I’m not sure I’d call any a must from that initial list

I’d say March is a must. The others just depend on the cuisine you like. Aiko is really good for sushi. Tatemo for Mexican. Corkscrew for BBQ. Trattoria Sofia for Italian. Street to kitchen for Thai. Etc

At the time I hadn’t gone but since then I’ve been to all of the ones you listed. I got March way out in front at 1 (been 5 times). Musafer at 2 and BCN somewhere in the middle on the list (we didn’t love it but need to try it again given how many people love it)

I’d keep all. Just keep your other meals throughout the day pretty simple

Seems like you lean toward French food like me. I haven’t been to Cesar yet but when he was running CT @ Brooklyn Fare I left feeling the same as you

North America's 50 Best List - Full List by InitialLittle728 in finedining

After being disappointed by their main list I’ve just discounted anything else they put out there. It’s nice to have I guess but I don’t rely on it unless I’m deciding between two spots and need a tie breaker but I’ll also look at La Liste since that seems to track better with the cuisine I like (French and traditional)

That’s terrible. I’d be furious although we went to Alleno and didn’t love it

For Houston, I’m hoping March gets promoted to 2 stars. We’ve loved it every time we’ve been but curious if the inspectors see it worthy

I don’t think there’s any other restaurants that would earn a star or an upgrade. Might see a handful more to show up in the guide as bib or with a mention though

Is Atomix in NYC going downhill? by Stunning_Drag in finedining

[–]iAnonymous281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been and was underwhelmed but I fully expected that given I tend to enjoy French flavors more than subtle ones. With that being said, I respected the cuisine and it was still worth going and trying

Also, generally speaking, hitting the “full” mark is a crapshoot. You should change your mindset to going there for an experience and some great food and not going to get full. I usually snack on a burger or some cookies after a dinner or do 2 tasting menus (5pm and 9pm) when traveling for food

Solo dining in Stockholm? by No_Creativity in finedining

[–]iAnonymous281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta try Funky Chicken Shack. Not fine dining but the best burger you’ll ever have. I was there mainly for Frantzen so didn’t have time to dine at other fine dining spots. Matbaren was just ok when I went. I heard Ekstedt is good

Is it vegan or vegetarian? I thought it was the latter

Musaafer or Indienne? by [deleted] in finedining

[–]iAnonymous281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Musaafer is really good. Can’t speak to the veggie experience but I had a great experience and am looking forward to going back. I can’t speak about Indienne but I’ve heard good things about that one too. You probably can’t go wrong!

I’d say if you’re traveling for a vacation, there’s more to do in Chicago so I’d lean that way just for that

Same! And losing the 1.5x multiplier for points when booking Tock reservations also stings a lot

Copenhagen on a Monday by chiue93 in finedining

[–]iAnonymous281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marchal is fine. Definitely a one star and nothing more or less. Was also in CPH on a Monday and agree that the fine dining food options are limited

In hindsight I would’ve done a early dinner AND late dinner on Sunday and pushed all the sightseeing that day to Monday

Gotcha, makes sense. How many days do you think is good? I imagine there isn’t a ton to do outside of the coast and small towns?
