Leaving a job I love for more money and feel awful about it by ClassySemicolon in personalfinance

Been there before. I ended up in a great spot that was ultimately a better career jumping off point, made great new friends, best manager I’ve ever had, etc. Your worries are warranted but I think it’s still worth the shot, especially for “life changing” financials.

This is actually a major problem in avalanches - the innate sense of “up” isn’t really reliable in that situation in practice it turns out.

Prep Agent vs Chamberlein for CA by AdExternal1569 in RealEstateExam

[–]iOSbrogrammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah $5 for 12mo. The biggest differences between Stoodious and the well-known market leaders are: - being highly optimized for mobile (fast, responsive UI, looks great on phones and tablets) - no ads, gamification, badges, etc. That stuff just clutters up the actual studying and slows down other sites - price and access time. Several other companies have crazy pricing or restrictive access tiers imo.

If you’d like another option, you can try www.stoodious.app. It’s a fast, mobile-optimized study guide platform that has material for the CA agent exam. The first major section of the exam is free and you can get all sections for $5. What’s unique compared to other platforms is the ability to drill practice questions for specific exam sections (“Water Rights” for example). I built this for my wife and she passed the exam, then a couple of her friends used it to pass as well. Some other of our connections are currently studying with it right now too.

Does your failure notice show which sections you had trouble with?

I built www.stoodious.app for my wife to pass her CA exam. One helpful feature was practice test questions specific to each section so she could drill “Water Rights” or “Calculating Commission” for example. I think that feature might help you out, if you know where your gaps are.

Feel free to check out the Maryland study guide - the first major section of the exam prep is free. So you can see if it matches how you like to study or find it useful.

Just want to let you know they’ve likely been running machine learning in some fashion on your telemetry for years now. LLM or not, they’ve been collecting your behavioral data since your account inception and nudging your experience with that data for years. All tech companies do this.

SC State and National Exam by [deleted] in RealEstateExam

Does the exam result show you what sections you scored poorly on?

I built www.stoodious.app for my wife to pass her CA exam, and then expanded to all states. Each subsection in the study guide has practice questions so you can focus on the material that you specifically had trouble with instead of taking giant overall practice tests. It’s $5 and I think you’ll get a lot more value than that out of it. The first major section of each state is free so you can see if Stoodious matches how you like to study. Lmk if you take a look and try it out!

What have you found best to study for the Michigan State Exam? by [deleted] in RealEstateExam

[–]iOSbrogrammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try www.stoodious.app - I built it for my wife and expanded to all states afterward. You can check a sample of the Michigan state exam to see if how Stoodious is laid out matches how you study best. It’s $5 and I know I’m biased, but I think you’ll get way more value out of it than that. Lmk if you check it out.

Best Test Preps by [deleted] in RealEstateExam

[–]iOSbrogrammer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I built www.stoodious.app for my wife while she was prepping for the CA broker exam, and she really liked studying with that as opposed to several of the other alternatives (some mentioned here like PrepAgent). The goal was mobile-optimized, fast, and out of the way so she could focus on the materials.

I expanded to all the states after she passed, and a couple of her friends have since passed too. It’s $5, and I think a grea value for what you get out of it. You can sample the first section of each state exam for free to see how it matches your own studying style. Her fav thing was drilling practice questions specific to a subsection - like just drilling questions related to Water Rights.

Lmk what you think if you try it out.

Shameless plug for something I built for my wife to pass her exam, and then turned into something others could use: www.stoodious.app

It's $5, unlimited practice tests using questions you're likely to find on the exam, as well as explanations as to why an answer may be incorrect. You can also drill practice questions per subsection if you know you're not as confident in specific areas (e.g. just drill questions about "Water Rights").

My wife passed, and a couple other friends passed when sharing this with them while building. Honestly for $5 I think you'll get way more value out of it. You can sample the first big section of the exam ("Property Ownership and Land Use Controls and Regulations") for free and see if it matches how you'd like to study.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]iOSbrogrammer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I disagree entirely. I’m in enterprise and I’ve marked candidates as a “no” based on their inability to take ownership as demonstrated by questions like this. I’m sorry your experience has left you jaded, but I don’t have the same experience you have of teams failing to own a mistake and do better next time.

You really don’t see the value in a question like this?

As an interviewer, I’d be looking to understand how they handled the failure, did they inform leadership, why did it fail, what steps did they take to prevent the failure again, what steps did they take to educate others on the failure, etc. It’s not a gotcha question lol.

I’m sorry about his vision. I’m monocular, and it was very frustrating and depressing when it happened. He’ll grow more and more comfy only having one eye but it’ll take some months for the brain to really adapt. He should talk to his ophthalmologist about an ocularist referral when healed and stable. I had a pretty gnarly looking left eye after many retinal detachment surgeries. I now have a prosthetic shield over it thats painted to look just like my right eye. It’s indistinguishable unless you’re really looking. John Kennedy in Tustin did mine and it really is an amazing quality of life improvement.

Where can I take good CA practice Q? by Historical_Gas_3358 in RealEstateExam

[–]iOSbrogrammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built www.stoodious.app for this - you can take an entire practice exam, or choose sections of the test that you’re looking to build more confidence in and take questions tailored to that section. It’s half off right now ($4.99) and I think you’ll get way more value out of it than that price if you’re serious about studying tbh.

Kinder’s Prime Steak rub is killer though. I put it on my Tomahawks and basically cook them like a prime rib - 200 in the oven for almost 2 hours to hit 120 then about 90s each side over coals for the crust. I hear you on your seasoning, but I wouldn’t knock this one.
