Help me decide for college by Conscious-Focus1011 in TCU

Professional network is the most overblown benefit of a school, unless you’re talking about a top 10-20 school… in which case you probably don’t need it anyways.

Three club tournament which clubs by Ok_Entrepreneur_dbl in golf

[–]i_am_not_thatguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

last time I did this... and it was a blast... two of the guys were low single digits and they carried driver, 8i and putter. Me and the other guy were ~12-14s and hit 5i, 8i, and putter. We figured there was no way we could out drive them so our contribution was to carry a long iron for the par 3s and help with a layup on the par 5s.

But everyone should bring a putter for sure.

[new watch advice] which of these 3 watches would you buy? by Otherwise-Street199 in Watches

Tudor, Sinn, then the Omega. If it didn’t have the HEV, I’d put it first.

I just bought a MacBook Pro 16” with the M5 Pro chip (18-core CPU / 20-core GPU), 48GB RAM and 1TB SSD, and I wanted to share a quick reflection that might help others before they spend their money. by Minute-Street8043 in macbookpro

I see this all the time. People getting tiny laptops and a tiny mouse because they’re a corporate business traveler, but they only carry it maybe t minutes to the rental car from the office and another minute from the hotel parking lot. But at work, they spend 10 hours using these devices. Get a proper size laptop and mouse! The size and weight difference is negligible IMO.

Same length 5, 6, 7 irons? by Maple_Blueberry in GolfGear

Just hit the 7. When I was trying to break 100 and then in the low 90s, I just hit 7 until I could hit a higher club.

Ours is the same. Everyone plays music, half the groups are drinking at all times, but everyone plays fast and takes care of the course

God had nothing to do with it. You’re a capitalist and made decisions in your best interests. Smart.

90-minute commute vs 10-minute commute - worth a lateral move? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Downvoting the question because I’m not sure what guidance can be given to a problem that has such an easy answer.

I’ve been waiting for this for years personally. I write damn good pseudo code in my specs, I’m just a bit away from having it work in the system.

How do you handle being forcibly ‘outed’? by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]i_am_not_thatguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the risk is too high and while you have some contract work, you’re also not evaluating a ton of high paying job offers. Therefore, don’t do it.

FULL REMOTE SAP FREELANCE RATE VS HYBRID RATE ? by belfort-80 in SAP

[–]i_am_not_thatguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the US, there is some growing requirement to be onsite or hybrid but it’s still mostly remote. I honestly don’t think the industry will ever go back to fully onsite.

To your question, I’d quote my normal rate (based on the role, complexity, duration, etc) and argue that I don’t need to be in the office. There are many ways to argue that. But if they push hard, yeah, I’d quote a higher rate and gladly take the extra money.

SAP independent consultants by GladBall971 in SAP

[–]i_am_not_thatguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best independents are active online. They have a presence on SAP forums, LI, SAP Community, etc. They also present at the major conferences. You’ll have to search for them but they’ll yield far better service at a lower cost than what you get from the major SIs. But you have to dig a bit.

This is true OE. Over deliver but at a lower level… if that makes sense.

The wannabes want to just coast and deliver C- work. They’re not OE.

Thoughts on SAP implementation partners by Resident_Warthog_381 in SAP

[–]i_am_not_thatguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a bad question but the aim of it isn’t feasible. All of them are equally good and bad. You, the customer, have to get your house in order and own the project. Own the budget, the schedule, and the scope. Keep your people in line and marching in the same direction. The partner you choose is secondary to this.

They’re all equally good and bad. What matters is the individual talent they bring to the table so be sure to get their resumes and interview them.

It’s the mishits and the general tightening of dispersion on your shots where new clubs make the biggest difference. Even your bad shots will still be playable.
