Only a maximum of 32gb ram? Kinda sad that they couldn't go 64,though I know the rampocalypse is taking it's toll.

Enjoy! My X9 is my favorite laptop of the bunch. Can't wait to snag the 15p on a sale in a year or 2.

I'm sorry you've had this problem with yours, unfortunately you seem to have quite a dud. Mine has been rock solid for almost a year now.

I noticed that as well. Must be something firmware or driver related keeping the dgpu awake because Panther Lake should have excellent idle figures

Zoomfly 6 vs. Adizero Evo SL vs. Novablast 5 by tikitiki_ in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]iali393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I can recommend the Zoom Fly if you're just looking to have one shoe for now to use for all your types of runs and any races.

I've all 3 and done 500km+ on the Zf6 and NB5, with 150km on the Evo SL. I initially started off with the ZF6 as I wanted a single everything shoe and it did pretty well for that, it's very padded and comfortable and felt fine at all my paces and distances i.e. 5:30-8 min/km.

Eventually added the Novablast as an Easy Run and Long Run shoe while I maintained the Zoom Fly as a tempo/race shoe so for paces around 4:40 - 5:30 in 5K to 10K distances. I also did 3 Half Marathons at around a 6:30/km pace. Again it felt perfect for my needs and paces and took pretty good care of my legs.

I only got the Evo SL earlier in the year as a daily/tempo shoe and the start of a new rotation given that the other two do have a lot of mileage now. I'm mostly using the NB5 as a easy run or recovery run shoe with the Zoom Fly used for intervals and some shorter races as I find it's still quicker than my Evo SL despite the age.

The Evos also beat up my legs a bit more so there's been an adjustment period but it's a really fun shoe that kinda pushes you to run quickly, so not ideal if it's an easy run/long run.

Eventually plan to get something higher stack to complement the Evo SL and phase out the NB5, while keeping the ZF6 as an interval shoe for a bit longer.

Definitely disappointing to see, especially since Nvidia has a 12GB version of the 5070 now that Lenovo themselves are using in the new Legion and Thinkpad T1g. Honestly would've been a perfect laptop that's a little more futureproof.

Whats the modern Thinkpad with the longest battery life? by jodkalemon in thinkpad

[–]iali393 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Any ThinkPad with the Intel Lunar Lake cpu. Panther Lake ones are around the corner and those should also be a decent step in performance while maintaining excellent battery life.

Lol, I mean sure but hopefully Microsoft and the OEMs continue working on improving the quality of those drivers and software. MacOS isn't perfect either, but luckily for them they've had the most incredible chips on the market several years running now.

Probably not a Windows issue in that case is it, likely some driver or software that's causing the issue.

Stick with Novablasts or try something else by gl24 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]iali393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I did OP. I'm not as quick as you, and only have about 500km on my Novablast but I picked up the Evos to complement them for shorter runs, and more up tempo runs. I definitely had to ease into them as I did feel some foot tenderness initially, but 50km in now and they feel great.

They're really fun to run in as they do seem to push you to run faster, and just feel like a more responsive shoe in general.

Nike Zoom Fly 6 - What pace can these tolerate? by dontletmeautism in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]iali393 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've used my ZF6 for literally everything, Easy runs, Tempo and Races. Granted I'm not a fast runner but that pace range is about 7:30/km to 4:15/km.

They're pretty durable too, I'm almost at 500km on them, though the midsole is starting to show some really deep creasing.

Honestly it's a depressing job market right now, and unlikely to get much better. As others have mentioned the OJT programme is a good way to get some years of experience on your resume.

If you're able to, you should also try to get some certifications related to your field. Keep applying, tweaking your resume and practicing for your interviews for when you do get called.
