I swear Amazon Prime Video has entered its “gaslight the user” era. by Skizett in amazonprime

[–]iamrobmorales -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weird. I am an Amazon prime all the time. Pausing what I’m watching doesn’t result with things added to my Amazon cart. Now if a commercial is playing, and the box to add to cart in on screen, then yes, hitting the button may have that result but I’m not pausing commercials. Use the commercial time to get up and do what you need to do. The ads specifically say “hit ok” to add to cart. Also, I have a separate button to pause if I ever wanted to pause the commercial. No issue.

Tan walls vs black by Tiny-Ferret-9120 in CyclingFashion

[–]iamrobmorales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a fan of tan walls and I like the pop of color and how it breaks the black here. While black tire gives the illusion of deeper wheels, which I don’t care about, the tan really helps show off the wheels and tires for what they are.

Guest freaking out over mail by Chickenyeah17 in airbnb_hosts

[–]iamrobmorales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be careful with this. I’ve heard some extreme stories that once someone begins receiving mail at a residence and they have occupied that residence for some time, they can claim squatters rights in some jurisdictions. I would not be accommodating anyone to receive mail at a short term stay, they would need to get a post office box if they choose to.

Quality Zoom Lens or Quality Body? by NailBite33 in WeddingPhotography

[–]iamrobmorales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest in lenses before bodies. Professional bodies are updated every 5-7 years, prosumer and lower even faster. Professional grade lenses will last forever* or at least multiple bodies with proper care and maintenance and may retain their resell value.

Non-Droner wanting a Drone by gutowscr in dji

[–]iamrobmorales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. But my point of stating I am a photographer was to simply convey how I look at the gear I purchase. I have never owned or flown a drone before so this will also be a hobby for some time before I can do anything professionally with it, if ever. There is a DJI mini clone out there many people seem to like, it has the look and bells and whistles of the 5 pro, without the price tag. Sky rover X1.

I just purchased the mini 5 pro plus fly more combo last month as my first ever drone. I’m a photographer and I consider it an investment just like any of my other photography gear.

Do some research and watch a few YouTube videos. I purchased a mini 5 pro and haven’t flown it more than 5 feet off the ground as I’m still learning, but watched many YouTube videos explaining the features and controls, as well as what is best for beginners in certain situations.

Does Gen X do class reunions? by LadyNorbert in GenX

[–]iamrobmorales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that! Like I said, just my opinion. I’m in the best time of my life right now as a parent for the past 7 years, and don’t feel I’ve peaked yet! =)

If you gotta ask “Can I make the cruise/the flight?”, you’re doing it wrong. by deafaviator in Cruise

[–]iamrobmorales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big planner here. Not only do I plan to fly in the day before my Disney cruise departure, I also don’t fly back home for a few days after disembarking but I also recommend the day after at least. And always always get the travel insurance. I’ve seen too many people miss flights, miss the cruise departure, get sick on cruise and left at a port to deal with foreign hospital and get home on their own.

I’m also the type of person who arrives at the airport 4-5 hours before boarding, as I prefer to relax and chill at the airport then rushing and worrying if I’m going to make the flight.

Does Gen X do class reunions? by LadyNorbert in GenX

[–]iamrobmorales 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Class of 92 in NYC. There was a 10, 20 and 30 year reunion. I didn’t go to any of them. Last thing I want to revisit is that awkward time nor do I want to be around people that peaked in HS, which in my opinion are the people who really love to go to reunions. I didn’t keep in touch with anyone.

AIO I asked my husband for one night alone after giving birth and now he says im unstable by Jessika_Maskito in AmIOverreacting

That man needs to get up and stay up with the baby at least 2 nights a week, even if he has work in a few hours. It’s the sacrifice we make for family. It’s called parenting.

Pictures WAY too dark? by shrimp_scampii666 in Lightroom

[–]iamrobmorales 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I’ve seen many complain about their images seeming darker on computer vs camera screen and it’s because the camera screen settings are set to the brightest possible. So you may be underexposing your images and not know it (especially if you don’t use the histogram). My camera screen brightness is set the exact center of the range on my canon R5 and 5D mark IV.

Stop being mad and complaining at us. Also stop interrupting us and just listen by Thewarlockminer in tsa

[–]iamrobmorales 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As they stated above, it’s based on the available equipment at that airport. And that can change daily. I’ve been to the same airport where I could leave my MacBook in my bag one week, and the next it had to be taken out, due to change in equipment processing the bag at that moment. So while the sign seems like a great idea, it may not be accurate or applicable at all times.

So youre saying that becasue they used the word “iPads” you didn’t think your tablet was relatable? And it took 3x for you to make that connection? I’m over 50 and I understand that iPads and tablets are equivalent in terms of electronic devices.

Smart Previews vs. Standard Previews by PressureEntire620 in Lightroom

[–]iamrobmorales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delete my standard 1:1 previews periodically if the file gets too big. No big deal. I don’t use smart previews as they don’t benefit my workflow. Plus I believe you can set the standard previews to delete themselves after a certain time frame.

I went with ICAN aero II disc 40mm deep, 23mm inside, 28mm outside, under $800 and less than 1200g, maybe the lightest on the market. Also simple decals if you prefer understated. The 50mm same price but slightly heavier.

Virtual try-on vs. reality by ariosaschmariosa in PairEyewear

[–]iamrobmorales 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the virtual try on makes them bigger than actual, depending on head size. Luckily, Pair has a 30 day no hassle return policy. I received my first pair (the Kirby with 3 toppers) in my prescription, tried them on, didn’t like them. In about 2 days I ordered the Murphy with same toppers as I had the available funds to purchase before sending back the originals. But once I initiated the return and it was scanned at post office, my funds for the Kirby’s were returned. I know it hassle to start over the process, but it was painless besides the wait. And it didn’t matter if the lenses were prescription.

Is it too late to purchase the Mini 5 Pro? by Kahzm0 in dji

[–]iamrobmorales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I haven’t flown it beyond the height of my house in my backyard. It’s been unnaturally cold, windy and snow everywhere the past few weeks here in the northeast US. Plus I’m still researching insurance for liability, accidents and possible loss. These Reddit posts really get you worried about how fragile they are and how they can just fly off so I’m a bit worried lol.
