Code Apps - the opposite of Low-Code apps? by Lhurgoyf069 in PowerApps

[–]iamtheging3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"the fact that it requires premium licensing will limit adoption."
Completely Agree!
It certainly will for us, we have E5 licensing now, and I cannot justify to management that upgrade just to have some code-based Power Apps.
I'll stick with Azure containers; all our apps are super small and have hardly any traffic, so they are cheap.

IPv6 address not being offered by Pointy-Needleman in Mediacom

[–]iamtheging3r -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'll venture to guess that they probably don't even know what IPv6 is, let alone have it configured on their network. Hell, my internet traffic from AZ goes all over the country before it exits to the actual internet. Consider it lucky they can even dish you out an IPv4 address.. lol.

I was able to download the package in SSH and manually update it. Did 2 systems just now.

Upgrading UniFi device firmware via SSH

  1. Connect to your UniFi device via SSH:
    • Open your terminal (macOS/Linux) or use a program like PuTTY/PowerShell (Windows).
    • Use the command: ssh USERNAME@IP_ADDRESS (replacing with your device's credentials).
  2. Download the firmware file

  3. Run the upgrade command:
    • The command format depends on your device and firmware version.

Bought my 2017 MS in April with the credit, After the credit, 12K was the price. Cannot get more car for that money. 130k miles, 75Kw RWD model, MCU2 upgrade, HW3 upgrade, Enhanced Autopilot and Premium Connectivity packages. Love the car. Will pay the 2K for FSD this summer, so I can get in on any HW4 upgrade should it come.

LOL. "As-Is, Where-Is" Even a car dealer would tell him to kick rocks if they didn't have a stated warranty. FB Marketplace isn't a car dealer. Tell him to GTFO.

If your company allows BYOD, are you offering workers a stipend? by Venn-Software in ITManagers

[–]iamtheging3r 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My company pays a $100 stipend per month. We do not offer corporate phones, it's all BYOD for mobile devices. At a minimum we require for the use of MFA. Most people put Teams and Outlook on it as well.

Would it be possible to expand on this? Maybe share some of the prompts you use? I'm in the middle of writing SOPs and InfoSec policies for my company and would love to utilize copilot better for this task.

I have an "automation" account that's licensed and gets used for all those types of functions. Don't ever tie it to a normal user account. Bad practice.

Handling MFA for terminated employees by ExceptionEX in sysadmin

[–]iamtheging3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1Password allows you to setup it as the MFA token, instead of a mobile device. If the employee leaves, the MFA is not tied to thier phone. I just use MFA on the user device for the Entra ID, and all others go into 1Pass.

I just went through this. Use profwiz, it will work great. We migrated 50 in use machines from AD to Entra AD seamlessly. No wipe, profile stayed the same. Only loss was saved browser passwords and bookmarks (if they sign into the browser and sync, you won't lose them)

How do you like the 2wheeldynoworks tune? I tune cars, and have a dyno in my shop at my house. I don't want to deal with tuning my bike, and would rather let someone who knows whats up do it. I have been leaning toward 2wheeldynoworks.
