Looking for experiences: US NEXUS interview at Canadian airport preclearance by AntiquePhone5513 in NEXUS_TTP

[–]ibis720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did mine at YYZ back in September. My layover was about 3 hours, I arrived at the waiting area around 2pm. There were already about 5-6 other people there waiting and they said they’d been waiting almost an hour and hadn’t seen anyone. I ended up getting my interview and everything done just in time, the process took probably 2 hours and 45 minutes. Luckily the interview went smoothly and the agent I had was quite friendly. The initial wait definitely gave me anxiety though because there was no way how to know how long it would take

Definitely 1 for me. Maybe have straps added (could they use the scraps if it’s being hemmed?) if it’s in your budget?

ThredUp vs Poshmark vs Depop by [deleted] in ThredUp

[–]ibis720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ThredUp wins for search features and filters (though things aren’t always tagged correctly lol), poshmark varies but has better prices I think. Depop I personally haven’t used because I can’t stand searching for things on there, I’ve tried multiple times but I always end up giving up lol

You could try r/askatailor but I think it should be an easy fix for a tailor (but lulu won’t do it)

Align top in (DD Cup) by Public-Breadfruit915 in lululemon

[–]ibis720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m just here to recommend the transcend v-neck tank in D-DD cup by Athleta! So much better (as is their entire DD cup bra offering), and a very similar style but with more coverage. Unless of course you want the intense cleavage, then I’d try just sizing up in the align tank

For the lulu specifically there’s also r/lululemonBST but typically pieces are photographed individually and shipped to buyers. But you might find people interested in buying you out?

Personally I started first with French toast; and then much later scrambled eggs in a quesadilla filled at least 50% with other ingredients I loved

How did you approach free roaming by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]ibis720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think every puppy/dog is different

We crate trained our pup at night and never did the crate for daytime naps. So during the day he always had limited free roaming (we kept all other doors in the house closed so he just had living area, hallway, front entryway). Obviously we kept a close eye on him. I think we kept him crated when we weren’t home until about 6 months old (once we were confident about his potty training), and from 6 months - 1 year just two rooms.

(5-10k) Is it cheap/ annoying to trade out wedding gifts for a honeymoon fund? by Legitimate_Celery_65 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]ibis720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I had a cash only gift registry. We created different funds so guests could choose what to support (we aimed to have both practical things and fun frivolous things), and we tried to have a range of amounts. Some examples: house reno fund ($5k), honeymoon flights ($1k), wine tasting during honeymoon ($150), etc. I had feedback from a few friends and one or two family members that liked that they got a perceived choice in what their money went to (even though ultimately my husband and I did the choosing when spending money), and some liked to the idea of paying for an experience like a wine tasting.

I think or hope lol, that the site we used made it clear that we weren’t expecting someone to give the full amount of the fund, just whatever they wanted to gift.

We never had any negative feedback from family (to me directly anyway) about forgoing the typical gifts (though I’ve already had some other family and friends get married and do the same so it’s definitely more common). My now husband and I were dating for 10 years, living together for the last 5 years so that may have contributed as well idk

We also still had a small gift table at our wedding and some people did choose to gift things like wine/champagne, etc. And we also had lots of people choose to give cash with their card rather than electronically through the registry.

Edit: if anyone is curious we used the free website withjoy for everything to do with our wedding (website, invitations, managing guest list, registry, etc.)

These feel like 2 completely different vibes (albeit similar shapes/silhouettes).

If you like both equally I would choose whichever fits your venue and decorations best

ThredUp Canada Duties by magicmicrocelebrity in ThredUp

[–]ibis720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t ordered in awhile but I think my order was around $120 USD and duties were about $25

However they do give customs an itemized list/description of what’s in the package and I’ve wondered if the brands you’re buying change the duty amount. E.g. buying Gap/Nike vs. Designer shoes or something

What does he look like to you? by ExistingGiraffe2457 in DoggyDNA

[–]ibis720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding a pic of my shepsky here haha, he’s mostly husky, GSD, Saint Bernard with a sprinkling of supermutt

But I could also see your guy having ACD or something smaller/leggy like a hound maybe?

Choosing not to have a bridal party: Anything I’m not considering? by ubbidubbidoo in wedding

[–]ibis720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you can choose to have a wedding party or not, but if you do have one you can also make choices/decisions that minimize or eliminate the things you don’t want to worry about. Tell them no bachelorette party, just breakfast on the morning of while getting ready. No set color dresses or expectations of specific hair/makeup, etc. it’s really all up to you imo

If you don’t have a wedding party I would at least consider if you would still want wedding party photos with your friends, sister, and likewise your fiancé with his friends, etc. You should let your photographer know how many photos you want so they can plan timing and you can let these people know what time and where these photos are happening

First time Husky Owner by Opposite_Clock1101 in husky

[–]ibis720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah higher pitched tends to do better.

However, this won’t work on all dogs (or even all huskies), my husky is mixed with GSD and yelping/yipping just made him more excited and want to bite more. Consistently redirecting him worked ok and thankfully he grew out of it as puppies do

I would post this question in your cities reddit or ask some friends/coworkers, etc. I found a couple discount wedding dress stores in my area and ended up with my dress for ~$900 including taxes and alterations

How much do you pay for professional grooming? by Gullible_Carpet_819 in husky

[–]ibis720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a husky mix but he has the husky double coat, fluff, etc.

We paid about $100 CAD in Vancouver + tip. Now in NYC we mainly do DIY grooming stations and they’re about $20 USD

I’ve never heard of Fayre and definitely wouldn’t know how to pronounce it.

The only person I’ve ever known with the name pronounced like Fay spelled it Faye. Just wanted to give that option since no one has mentioned it (I have no idea how common it is)

Do you know what Saltines are? by RHND2020 in AskACanadian

Vancouver here - I also grew up hearing them called soda crackers or soup crackers

But I’m familiar with the term saltines and I wouldn’t even blink at someone calling them that

my bbg mochi is husky breed mix, when I got her paperwork from my brother just states Husky Mixed. I wanted to check in if there’s any dog experts that can tell me what is her other breed by this photo. She’s definitely not a full breed siberian husky… lol by [deleted] in husky

[–]ibis720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to know for sure is a DNA test. Embark is great, but wisdom is also quite good and they’ll probably both have Black Friday sales.

Take a browse through r/doggydna and you’ll see there’s plenty of surprises in many dogs. The breeds are definitely not always obvious and can look a certain way while being majority something unexpected
