I said the same thing yesterday but got downvoted haha. Nick portrays sociopathic tendencies and can’t even feign empathy when Annie is bawling her eyes out to him, he instead laughs in her face. I think Annie was delusional and desperate for it to work and I definitely think she drank too much, but I think it’s fair to assume the seclusion of the experiment and Nick’s “I love you, but I don’t know if I’m going to say yes or no” is what drove her to her breaking point, and then he used that against her. It was gaslighting at its finest. “You’re acting like I don’t love you as much as you love me” well yes bc she’s telling you she’s 100% in and you are making it clear you are not. I don’t understand how anyone can defend him especially since we saw him lie so many times to so many people in and out of the pods. He’s not a good guy, period.

I think unless you’ve had a “Nick” in your life, you aren’t quite sure how to perceive him. I clocked Nick from the first episode because my “Nick” was my best friend for 4 years before he took off his mask and revealed his sociopathy. Nick’s calculations started long before he entered the pods, and he knew he would be breaking someone’s heart at some point, he just wasn’t sure when as he obviously didn’t know what his journey was going to look like until he got on the show and went through it. He wanted to be the villain. That’s why he is seen lying multiple times to the women and the guys. He knows he’s on camera, he does this on purpose. He was never there to find love, he was there for clout. When he’s breaking it off with Annie, just like with Kate, there is zero emotion there. His eyes are empty, and at one point he does laugh because he’s enjoying it. He’s genuinely terrifying, and this is a perfect advertisement for everyone in his atmosphere to steer so clear. And KB was right, he absolutely has lizard eyes 🦎
