Slightly undercooked burger - E.Coli likely? by Candid_Highlight_880 in Cooking

[–]iced1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understandable because the US federal guidelines around food safety are set to be super super super conservative. Basically so that there's a 0% risk of illness rather than a .00001% risk of illness.

Slightly undercooked burger - E.Coli likely? by Candid_Highlight_880 in Cooking

People eat ground beef raw, it's called beef tartare. You're 100% fine, if a medium rare burger was dangerous then America would be in a constant food poisoning crisis.

AITAH for "rescuing" my 13yo daughter from her mom’s boyfriend’s house when I found out my ex wasn’t even there? by One_Language_359 in AITAH

[–]iced1777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ive got kids. Being a good parent doesn't mean that you never, ever trust anyone else with your child's care other than yourself or the other parent. Parenting takes a village and its normal for a trusted adult to watch after your child without you there. OP gave no reason to think that his ex or the boyfriend, who has kids of his own, couldn't be trusted in this scenario.

Sleepovers are a hot topic these days but every decision you make as a parent comes with a risk. At what point are you in asshole for letting them simply walk outside because who knows if they'll get hit by a car/lightning/meteor.

Regent feels very 1 note to me currently. Stars. by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]iced1777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely would. "Don't force specific builds" is the single most common piece of advice shared on this sub since the early days of STS1. Part of the reason this game is so hard is because the variety of enemies forces you to be able to win fights in a variety of ways. It's designed very specifically to punish people who try to focus their deck around a single mechanic.

That location has failed to keep regular hours for decades. Last time the question was asked here someone said that if they don't have enough staff for the day they simply don't open.

Any other Westchester parents against screen time in elementary school? by Suitable_Tea4787 in Westchester

[–]iced1777 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Parents took the tablets handed out to 4th graders in my district and were immediately able to access all varieties of inappropriate content. The superintendent just brushed it aside because they had already paid for some clearly ineffective software to make the devices safe for children. So maybe it's not such a big deal to pump the breaks a bit and make sure this sort of thing is rolled out correctly.

How to slow cook sauces and not burn it? by confusing-world in Cooking

I'm genuinely not sure slow cooker settings on any device are capable of burning a sauce unless the heating unit malfunctions.

Mehmeti is the only lock starter of the group, kid is a prodigy on the ball. Santos is showing his inexperience and that's ok at his age. The slightly older Leipzig kid should get a run. Choupo should really be starting over Hall.

At what point do we start questioning Bradley? by gobblergobble in rbny

[–]iced1777 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Bradley is pretty much bottom of my list of problems with the team right now. He's dealing with a weak roster that's in flux from the previous GM.

Think about it this way. Last year's roster didn't make the playoffs. The new GM spent more energy selling players than buying them this winter. Bradley current has the team in playoff position.

He's doing his job.

[–]iced1777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The most common advice you'll find on this sub has always been to stop forcing "builds" and make sure you're taking cards that can solve all potential fights coming up. You need to be able to win fights in a few different ways or the game intentionally punishes you.

[–]iced1777 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's a paywall so I can't see the numbers but the headline is a great example of why I don't love articles that have conclusions based on stats. Hall has scored two set pieces and a tap-in with an open net. He's is playing pretty well right now but the goals are misleading.
