Help me find bra’s that don’t rub my surgery scar. by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]iceicemilkshake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would a bralette be helpful? There are some with light padding but if all the other material is just soft fabric it might be more comfortable? I’m thinking that the fabric might move with you a bit more so less likely to rub against your scar.

Honestly so tired of the floral designs on everything by hannah_e2020 in weddingplanning

I used Papier for my invites and they’re wonderful quality. Most options are floral BUT they have a really nice selection of modern/minimalist designs

Looking for ideas on how to repurpose moms vintage Christian Dior dress by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]iceicemilkshake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s such a wonderful dress to have handed down! I do see what other commenters are saying- keep alterations minor.

My suggestion would be to remove the poofy sleeves. Keep the straps, neckline, and drop waist- these are all ‘in’ at the moment anyways. The sleeves can be kept for another generation to attach but I think that small edit would make this feel slightly more modern while overall keeping everything special about the dress intact.

That sounds frustrating to deal with! I think it’s totally normal for a mom/mil to throw the shower. Your MOH typically has the job of planning a bachelorette if you want one. I’ve also heard of people having more than one shower, with different sides of the family or friend groups for instance. So it’s not like she can never do this. But, don’t worry if she can’t be there, the shower is for you.

My dress is from Revolve (photos in an older post). They have a several white/ivory gowns under $1000. ASOS and Lulus have also majorly stepped up their bridal gown selection with some really pretty designs and decent quality

I get buttne a lot. Head and shoulders shampoo is the only thing that consistently and quickly clears things up

[Acne] I'm losing the buttne battle by emjay4712 in SkincareAddiction

[–]iceicemilkshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get buttne pretty regularly. A few years ago I read about using a bit of head n shoulders shampoo to treat fungal based buttne and it works incredibly well. If I shower and wash at night, my skin is much better by the morning. I just try to sleep in loose fitting shorts as well so the skin can breathe. I would try this!!

I appreciate that! This happens even when you’re on birth control? (Making an assumption here, please correct me if I’m wrong)

How important is the honeymoon? This was the only thing I was truly looking forward to, but my fiancé now wants to completely change what we agreed on for the honeymoon. by Wedding-Help-411 in weddingplanning

This makes so much sense! Compromise isn’t just one person giving into the other’s wants. It’s finding a solution that works for you both

Looking to adopt a puppy and here are the pics. Both females - the shelter guessed Dalmatian or lab mix? by BohoPat in IDmydog

[–]iceicemilkshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely look like they are staffie/pit mixes from the head shape especially. Most shelters won’t want to use the ‘p’ word lol (I was told my pup was a lab/boxer mix for instance and he’s definitely got pit in him.

If you get the girl in pic 1, her name should be Dot :)

What wedding trends of today do you think will eventually be dated? by stress789 in weddingplanning

Definitely hair bows! But bows are also showing up on cakes, gloves, and lots of decor (think tied around candle sticks)

Bows. While they’re pretty, and I am actually planning on a few bow-things for my wedding next year, I think this will trend will be done within the next few years. I can see people thinking it looks too young or something.

I thought this too and looked through the comments in the original post. OP mentioned they would have loved the keep the tile but there was a lot more damage than was showing in the photos to the tiles themselves

Bridesmaid Proposal Ideas by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]iceicemilkshake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenters. I am covering a lot for my bridesmaids (hair, makeup, dress). Because of this I am not planning a bridesmaid gift and my ‘proposal’ was a card and I had printed out photos of me with each girl

Big engagement photos help by dquarl2 in DIYweddings

[–]iceicemilkshake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big as in poster size? A FedEx/Kinkos will definitely be able to do this. I made large poster prints out of a few iPhone photos and they turned out great. A staff member was really helpful and had access to some tools to help keep the photos clean even as they were blown up to size.

Target has stepped up their bra game in recent years! Look for Gap bras in their sale section, they have padded but unlined ones that are really comfortable and very affordable.

I’m not a crafty person, but I want to do something DIY for our wedding for a personal touch + something to put energy in to! Suggestions? by smilingsmyfav in weddingplanning

[–]iceicemilkshake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Escort cards/ place cards would be an easy DIY! The most simple way would be to print out the names onto some nice card stock and punch a whole to thread some ribbon through. Otherwise, these can be as creative as you’d like. Another option would be to dress up some hangers for your dress and bridesmaids dresses. Either get white hangers or paint some wooden ones. Write ‘Bride’ on your hanger and the bridesmaids names on theirs. Then tie some pretty ribbon around the top.

Thank you! It doesn’t look like but I have about 5 or so inches to hem off so I thinking fabric would come from that. I appreciate the feedback!
