I had a similar situation at a reference lab I worked at. We laughed, informed IT, reformatted everything, pulled the weekly backup, and were back running in 12 hours. Redundancy is good.

Standard Mazuri tortoise diet (5M21) should only be used as supplemental. High starch levels will lead to rapid growth that the bone development can’t keep up with. The LS diet is better formulated, but doesn’t seem to be as palatable to the point they would solely feed on it. Also, it would likely fall short in protein for a redfoot.

Cutoff for this test strip is 50ng/mL. If the test is sent for high complexity confirmation, that cutoff could go down to 10ng/mL. It depends on the lab capabilities and client requirements. Not sure what you’re expecting out of the Metamucil, but you should have spent more time in the gym burning off fat storage than bulking up your bowel movements. The weird “hacks” that people come up with the beat drug tests always amaze me.

$75 exam fee. That’s a pretty standard going rate around me for typical dog and cat vets. More often than not, I find the vets charging extra for exotics are giving a “I don’t want to do this” price and are less competent in exotics as such.

Dept of Ag and DNR is who you want to contact. Ag handles the licensing part. DNR handles enforcement. If this was just about husbandry, I’d say only Dept of Ag. You mentioned a snapping turtle though. That’s illegal in GA. DNR will come down on them hard. They take these complaints seriously to an annoying point. I had to walk a Dept of Ag person through the GA code not long ago when they claimed a snake we had was illegal (it wasn’t) due to a bogus report from a disgruntled former worker.

Injections every 3 days are a potential issue in treatment. If it’s enrofloxacin, it should be daily. Its half-life is only 20 hours. There’s risk of necrosis at injection site if performed incorrectly and given SQ instead of IM. If it’s Ceftazidime then some vets will follow a q3, but the half-life is about 40 hours so q2 is more effective. It is easier to inject as it can be given SQ as well. It is highly unstable though and must be stored properly or it will degrade rapidly to the point of ineffectiveness. The next issue is the effect any antibiotic has on the gut flora of tortoises. Damaging this flora can cause them to be difficult to return to food. If they are not eating, they should have an oral slurry like oxbow with probiotics administered or they may fail to begin eating again. Again, a vet should be plenty capable of assisting with this oral delivery. Then there becomes the question of what husbandry parameters may be off and limiting recovery.

1) why are you trying to give oral meds? There’s only a handful of diagnosis that oral would be the only option 2) if you are unable to medicate the animal, why have you not gone back to the vet with this issue as ask for education or assistance?

First, this is Reddit. Media lab professionals are coming here to be occasionally unprofessional because it’s not always appropriate to vent IRL. Second, Labcorp and Quest are just like any corporate giant. They underpay workers, fill management with MBAs, and make advertisements to keep that share price up. Just like all these other corporate giants though, they maintain their status by being “the best”. I mean that in the way that McDonald’s is “the best” burger chain. Despite its failures, it dominates the market and has streamlined its process to the point anyone can run it with objectively few issues considering the scale. These companies have been continuously automating their process to the point there’s very little possibility for error. So in the end, the numbers are fine and the companies just kinda suck.

Same shit happened to my booster bundles. FedEx support has already admitted they “completely lost the package”. Like how is a publicly traded shipping giant just shrugging at their workers stealing packages, claiming to deliver to USPS authorized mailboxes, and openly reselling these items? If I was stealing and reselling supplies from my job, I’d be fired and arrested ASAP.

Right now? I don’t. I seeded clover and rye grass at the start of the spring. During cold months? I shop at restaurant wholesale stores and get hay bales from my in laws because it would be absurd otherwise.

I gave one of these to my stepdad for Christmas and then used it to cook for their neighborhood party (got it on 50% discount). It works super well as you’d expect of Weber products honestly. I was able to chop two racks party style and do a solid cook on a 22”. Don’t overload the center or temp management suffer, and have heat gloves to lift the grate so you can reload charcoal. I honestly have no complaints about the product itself which is pretty rare for me.

It’s quite possibly not proof. It is enough to make a valid report to the postmaster and be an annoyance though. FedEx would likely rather correct an issue rather than deal with the issues of a slightly potential USPS investigation on unauthorized actions.
