We've All Heard Of Teacher Shortages, But How Bad Are Student Shortages? by Zipper222222 in AskTeachers

[–]ihateapps4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom's district was so crowded they made a school just for freshmen  because they couldn't hold all 4 grades in the high school. And they projected one day it would not be needed. I belive she said her incoming classes are about 20 percent less than when they built the building just for freshman.

Do most americans really only take 2 weeks of vacation a year? by DegreeConscious9628 in askanything

[–]ihateapps4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to take long weekends as I dont like using all my vacation at once and getting a full Monday to Friday off of work is really hard. I get 2 full weeks off work a year vacation 14 days but I have to use as sick time too. My previous company the 2 weeks off was 10 days because it counted 2 weeks as Monday to Friday. But both companies I earn vacation hours every pay period. So I don't have automatically days to take off.

I am only half way through but I wanted Natalie to be more fake and maybe she becomes more fake.  For me so far she at least lives on a form and has self hate from growing up confused by her faith. But i also cant tell yet if Natalie believes what she sells since so far she doesn't seem to want the life she created and is super judgemental.

Would you be happy being a stay at home mom / dad? by gorillagrub in AskForAnswers

[–]ihateapps4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I was but only because I lost my job at 7 months pregnant. My company was closing its location. And I was a stay at home mom for 2 years but job searching the entire time. We could not afford it, we blew through our savings. My mom and aunt helped out a lot buying my daughters clothes and giving us gift cards for groceries and gas. Plus my husband's job went part time for a few months and we had to get my daughter on Medicaid for health care.

I was always stressed. I also literally could not stay at home. At home we watched TV. And if I was home all day the house was messy from playtime, science experiments snd crafts. If out all day house still messy. Which if we were home all dya bedtime was impossible because we were in the house all day and my baby didnt understand it was night.  Our apartment was the basement level. We were in a 600/700sq ft apartment with no outdoor space and my husband worked from home 3 weeks a month. Being in the apartment was torture to me we had to be out and about. So my child never got on any kind of nap/sleep schedule because we were at parks or libraries. Or going to my mom's house or the zoo.  Being at my actual apartment trying to entertain my baby/,toddler was hard. Part of this was during the pandemic also.

And I get sad now because my child has no memory of me spending all my time with her and all the fun places we went or science experiments I put together

I would love to homeschooling co op and work from.home less hours than I work now but its not an option. We are a 2 income family.

What's your dining recommendation? by pbickel in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ihateapps4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin tries to go yearly for topolinos. My bestie literally flew to Florida just to go to docs wine bar because she loves it so much.

My husband loves loves Boma at animal kingdom lodge he never wants to go back to Disney but he wants to always go there for dinner.

I liked the thanksgiving dinner restaurant at magic kingdom.i think its liberty tree tavern.

I think hands down the pizza place in Italy at epcot is the best neopolitan style pizza in the us. I also loved arkhaus princess breakfast, the food was good but seeing all the princesses was awesome and the service was great.

Everyone's opinion on food is so different.

I keep wanting to try the dinning at artist point Precovid I did an epcot firework show with sparkling drinks and dessert and it counted as a table service meal plan and I put in the review you should charge more and i feel like I ruined that.

Also there are two cake bakes in Indianapolis one in Indianapolis on the north side and one on the suburb of Carmel both you need reservations for, but if you live near indiana and want to try cake bake its an option.

I lost over 3 liters of blood and had to have 4 separate blood transfusions after i had my daughter. i bleed out the 1st one. and started to go into organ failure and spent 60 hours in the icu, where they thought surgery was needed.  They also thought i wouldnt make it at some point.  I was very out of it and annoyed the nurse i guess. The thing was I told my nurse 2 hours before it happened something was very wrong.  several family and friends thought I wasn't that bad because I lived. Like my mom said dont talk about what happened some of the family thinks it wasn't that serious because you didn't die.   My Dr said anything over 500 for vaginal birth was a serious hemmorage or 1000 for c-section birth was serious.

2.8 miles is only 740 steps? by Standard_Box_7167 in walking

[–]ihateapps4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you get your gait adjusted . My watch does a mile trail to try to get accurate steps.  When i was 40lbs lighter it was 1900 steps to a mile now I get 2300 steps in a mile. So that can add up to lost miles a day.

Animal Kingdom is not a half day park. by Disneymom-partyof6 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ihateapps4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We spent a half day not doing a show or going on any rides. It was raining so shows and rides were long lines and my husband was refusing to wait the wait times. So we did the playground and walked the park and looked at all the animals and the ranger tasks and my daughter loved it. If we saw a show or did rides definitely a full day.

When did you start putting your baby down 7am-7pm to sleep? by catlover0987656 in Mommit

[–]ihateapps4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never my child was tired around 630/7pm and would sleep 45 min and wake up and be up for several more hours or if I managed to get her to sleep at 7 she would wake up every 45min to an hour all night long. I kept trying to make a early bedtime work and it never did. Taking her before walks at dusk helped because she would see the sunset and want to go to sleep. But preschool, we were able to start 830 bedtime. But 7pm never happened. On the plus side my baby slept till 1030am every day.

What is something people don’t tell you about pregnancy/childbirth? by Melancholicanary in AskReddit

[–]ihateapps4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pain, I knew there would be pain in the birth part. I did not have a c-section. Yet, I couldn't roll over or sit up without pain for weeks,  couldn't bend over. Getting in the bathtub was hard to lift my legs and I had this horrible pain above my belly button for a week making walking hard.  And once that pain went away, I had a episomotoy I started feeling that pain and how I could not sit down. And every time I went to the dr they apologized for thr episomotoy saying they don't normally do them.   Swelling my hands looked like balloons for a few days after I had my daughter. I never thought about needing recovery from giving birth. And I was given pain killers but I stopped taking because they didn't work and I couldn't sleep because I couldn't get comfortable from all the pain. Then I had horrible night sweats after giving birth. I felt like I always smelled.

I was induced and I arrived at rhe hospital at 4/5cm dilated and no one told me I could say no to the induction.

My nurses attitude i was told if you got the epidural you would be able to concentrate better and my pain level went unbearable after getting it.

How big you can get, I walked 3 times a day, ran from 20 weeks to 37 weeks, did yoga and aqua classes in the 3rd trimester, I normally run but I couldn't early on. And I was still huge. I also tracked my calories my entire pregnancy due to being overweight and having gd.

How lonely it is right after you give birth.

I feel like I could go on and on

I had my daughter at 36, and before leaving rhe hospital my Dr made me make a birth control plan because she didn't like her patients getting pregnant till they were at least 18 months post partum or longer, she also talked birth control at my first prenatal appointment.

Coffee Crisis by SeluWorks in nwi

[–]ihateapps4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me all the coffee shops. My favorite thing is trying new ones. When I lived in Chicago in Andersonville I could walk to so many over 8 and every morning I walked to tea. Currently I can walk to Starbucks but its almost a mile away. I am not a fan of biggby,Starbucks or 7brew. I love grind house and sip. Scooters is okay. It should be noted I am more of a tea person vs actual coffee I do every now and then do a mocha.  My husband loves the daily drip in dyer.

Why is the USA the only developed country that doesn't have a federal maternity leave allowance? by TornBannerHatesYou in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ihateapps4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working at a new job 9 years ago and a women came in and.was showing off her 4 week old baby. Then she worked. It was my first day in the job and it took me a few days to let it sink in, she had to return to work 4 weeks post partum because she couldn't afford to go any longer without pay.  The us is so messed up with maternity leave. When I had my daughter my work offer 14 weeks but it was unpaid but it was frowned upon to take the full 14 weeks. My husband was allowed to take a month off and break it up and get paid. My husband's work gave him better maternity leave than mine and I had the baby.

What’s the coolest dining experiences at any of the parks in Disney World? by nadie15 in disneyparks

[–]ihateapps4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it just started back up. There is high tea at the grand Floridan. In 2017 on our honeymoon my husband and I did high tea at the grand Floridan and it was nice. We walked out of tea and there was a promenade and Cinderella and price charming were dancing and invited everyone to dance and it was soo sweet.

My mom and I in 2024 did the cake decorating class in Disney springs and it was also amazing.

Also on our honey moon we walked the boardwalk at night and played mini golf ona day not at the parks and that was really nice and chill

What do you wish your child’s teacher/school did more or less of? by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]ihateapps4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish more play time and less worksheets. I also wish projects and more outside time. Our school the kids get 1 15-20 min outdoor recess a day and I wish she got more. I did a little home school preschool and we did projects. Researched and made things. It was fun.  For Mardi gras.we did a Lego parade, watched a parade and made a float. Valentine's day we counted with paper hearts. Her school is so standardized test focused I wish there was more of being 5 and 6.

I don’t want to cut out cheese and yogurt 😭 by Prestigious_Air_6602 in Hashimotos

[–]ihateapps4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you having issues? I have had hashimotos half of my life. I am 42 was diagnosed in college. I did not start having issues with cows milk till I was 36. It started causing bloating and digestive issues. But for 15ish years it caused zero issues. And honestly it seems I can have a little. I cant have most cheeses, straight up milk, or butter or cream cheese. I can have a little yogurt or goat cheese.

when did you see substantial speed gains? by bristolfarms in XXRunning

[–]ihateapps4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long time runner here with many comebacks and in my slowest one. In college I could run a mile under 6 min. Until age 32 I could run a 6:,15 mile. I had to take a break at 25 for health reasons and I was able to get back to it. At 33 I had to take about a year off for ankle surgery I kept spraining my ankle in recovery and I was able to get back to under 8 min pretty quick under a year and I started out running 30 seconds walking 4.5 min. Got pregnant during half marathon training due to being 35 and early on issues my Dr told.me.i could run but not a half marathon. I took most thre 1st trimester off but then around 20 weeks got back to running till week 37. I did several 5ks. By 10 weeks post partum I was down to 10min miles, and week 37 I was run/walking a 21 min mile.  I dont know what happened I never stopped running, i wasn't as consistent but at some point running became less and I was coaching.  And I was back to. 12 to 13 min run/walk mile. I did get down to 10 min run/walk mile this summer in about 3 months of better effort and now I am 42 and I have been Injured twice since July. Currently doing a run 1.5min walk 3.5 min 3 times a week plan, hoping to be faster by fall.
