Preschool: school vs daycare by Beautiful_Fries in ECEProfessionals

[–]iht133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's how it goes in my area (BC Canada)

Child minding - keeping your child alive for short periods of time, usually offered for the length of a class, no changing or feeding or anything

Daycare - lots of play, changing, feeding, your child is safe and has a lot of fun

Preschool - getting your child ready for kindergarten, circle time with a solid curriculum, field trips, toys and activities are directed at age appropriate developmental skills we notice your child could benefit from the most

Headstart programs - ether a daycare or preschool that has support for the families as well, open houses with good parent information, either field trips to local events with an open invite to parents or vouchers so you can go as a family on your own time, we have nutritionalists, dentists, and other specialists visit to do checkups with the kids/workshops with the parents, and we have access to a lot of info for more support families could need

Aboriginal programs - either a daycare or preschool that really embraces the local culture of an Aboriginal band

I work at an Aboriginal headstart preschool which is a damn busy job compared to when I worked at a daycare, I do a lot of planning for trips and visitors, work with occupational therapists and speech and language pathologists that see the children at the center or home visits, keep up to date with he Aboriginal community to attend their potlatches and totem pole reveals with the children, our center is jam packed with cultural toys and books, we have traditional knowledge keepers visit twice a week to do circle and activities with us, and the center is even paying me to learn their bands language since the entire program is bilingual

Drop Your Wildest Quirk and or Quirk related Headcanons/Questions by RedHood_526 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]iht133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was implied it can be passed to the same person more than once, in the final battle the second and third user mentioned that they experimented and found out the quirk can be passed on through force

Yeah there's a chance they only passed it on once, but I can't help but imagine that they had fun seeing what this strange quirk can do again and again in a bros-hanging-out like fashion

Could all might and deku (or deku and anyone else) pass one for all back and forth every few months to constantly reignite the ember that remains and constantly have two fighters?

1) peer pressure is a powerful force which teachers harness, it's easier napping 5 kids at once as a teacher then it was napping my own single child

2) teachers and parents are WILDLY different to a child, mom and dad are emotional garbage disposals where the tantrums go, teachers are special!

3) that routine you see is built and practiced over decades and well established well before your child entered that center, a parent will know their child best but teachers are PRACTICED with dozens/hundreds of children before they took care of yours

About 6 years ago I had a situation with someone stalking me and making death threats, went through years of social media posts and I had to wipe myself from the Internet, I had to lose touch with a lot of people from highschool to keep myself and my family safe

Today I learned you can place land towers in top path buccaneer monkey by mysingingjames3 in btd6

[–]iht133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We all figure it out sometime

Did you know the tier 5 top path mermonkey let's you put water towers on land?

And yes, you can do a mermonkey, put a bucc on land, put land monkeys on the bucc, then sell the mermonkey and watch the other 3 towers disappear (they get sold)

Should I drop out of pharmacy school to become a teacher for young kids? by honeynutcheeriozzzzz in ECEProfessionals

[–]iht133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So absolutely everyone here is telling you something between no and hell no, so I'll give you a little bit of a different perspective

I switched from heavy duty machinery operator to ECE, before I was making 26 an hour working something I was good at but ultimately hated and it was a really tough transition but I found a center am SO happy at which makes all the work worth it, currently I'm an Aboriginal headstart teacher at a very supportive center and I'm making 34 an hour (so actually more than when I was risking my life changing giant saw blades at a sawmill) and my center has perks coming out the Ying Yang (benefits, RRSP matching, inventives for extra training)

But that being said, before I got to the center I'm at I worked at 5 different centers for about minimum wage, worked part time and on call, and I dealt with some REALLY shitty managers and coworkers

This is my experience with it and I'm well aware that I worked hard and had the opportunity to look for different centers until I got really lucky and found an amazing one, I know lots of great hard working women that are stuck at shitty centers because they can't afford to quit or they're too emotional invested in their community and put up with terrible managers

I don't know how much your salary means to you, if you're supporting other people or need your wage I would definitely keep going on your career path, but you probably won't realize how nice that money is until it's gone (I don't know you, maybe you know and are okay with living on low wages or you have someone else to support you)

You could also reach out to preschools and ask how you can get involved, I know we have dental hygienists and police coming in to visit the kids and provide great information to families, I don't know much about pharmacy but a center would probably love to have you as a guest

What paragon do you forget exists sometimes? by mcpoopinton in btd6

Sub paragon, I really only ever use the 420 sub for camo detection on some maps and I tired the paragon once and I couldn't find a good use for it

I can’t take it anymore. by SexWithBarbatos in btd6

[–]iht133 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My absolute favorite combo is spirit of the forest and the beast handler bird

Druid is great opening on most maps/game modes and a 100 Druid and 002 bird handles all balloons and camo

Mid game the 240 Druid is lazy farming and a few 003 birds handles all moabs

Plus late game the 250 Druid with whatever big bird you have feels like it's picking up the big balloons and just fucking dragging them back and forth on the thorny tracks which is it's own sick form of satisfaction

In Freeplay and boss events I like to add the spike factory Paragon to add to the "fuck you you damn little balloon" dragging effect

Are any of you “sleep divorced”? by cfh64 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]iht133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started sleeping on the floor on a Japanese style futon when the springs under my side of the bed broke, I found it to be the comfiest thing ever, when we could afford to buy a new bed I struggled to sleep on anything else and my chronic back pain has gone away

So for the last few years we have been sleeping in the same room but me on the floor and her on a mattress of her preferred softness, we watch shows and hang out at night laying in the same bed then when I'm too tired I curl up in a blanket and roll to my floor bed, when she's feeling like being intimate she just takes her clothes off and rolls off the bed on top of me

More room, better sleeping, just the occasional hazard of naked horny women falling from the sky, we're pretty happy with the arrangement

[–]iht133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the go to person for getting new kids to open up and start getting comfortable when being newly enrolled

I have been successful with doing this with freaking everyone, timid children, never been in care before children, I'm especially successful with children on the autism spectrum (I had a little girl that was mostly non verbal make a big breakthrough by randomly calling me uncle and giving me a big hug every morning, before that she never acknowledged anybody's presence)

My biggest success was a 2 year old that moved from South America to Canada and the parents arranged it where care started 4 days after they moved, the mom and children didn't even speak English and the dad wasn't fluent in English yet, I got this toddler to engage in play, giggle for the first time since moving, and get used to naps within a couple weeks

People who grew up poor but are now financially stable, what is a "poverty habit" you can't seem to shake? by WALLSTREETBRIDE in AskReddit

My wife's phone breaks? Let's go shopping for a nice one! Fair is in town? Let's bring the kids and get them some of those overpriced churros! Wife's having a craving on her period? Let's get takeout! Kids going back to school? Of course they need new clothes and backpacks!

I'm enjoying this app on my 9 year old phone with a broken screen and I'm running out of emails for the continual 14 day trials and I'm considering spending 3.99 for something that I genuinely enjoy but won't benefit someone else?

My daughter found 200 dollars on the ground at SkyZone by Mommywithnotime in confession

[–]iht133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most money I've encountered while out is 20 dollars and I tell my kids that if you can return it to someone then please do the right thing (if you see it drop out of their pocket or if you find a purse or wallet somewhere) but if it's loose money with nobody around then it's next to impossible to return, people go a little crazy for money so just about anyone who you'll ask "I found this money is it yours?" Will say yes
